I bought this dishwasher and a hose broke within the first month at my brand new home flooding the kitchen with brand new hardwood floors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Nice Dishwasher

This GE washer is so much better than or previous, different brand, washer. After getting the GE we rewashed all of our glassware because the GE does a much better job in making them sparkle!

confusing loading arrangements

I've been using my dishwasher for about two weeks now. I've noticed that the space between the dishes seems greater than my previous GE dishwasher, and it causes more shifting of the dishes and glasses. They don't fit as securely in place, and I do not like the movement this allows. Also, the side jets were a big selling feature, but the handle on the basket for flatware is at the same level as the jets. This creates a blockage for the water to reach the dishes. I cannot believe that the basket handle was designed without considering the height of the side jets. Also, the dishwasher makes a high pitched whining noise while it runs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet and holds a lot of dishes, but doesn't clean

Selected all Cafe' series appliance for our new home. After 4 months and trying every possible permutation of soap amounts, water temperatures, cycles and having a repairman out once, we are back to hand washing dishes. Leaves oils/sauce residue on dishes, doesn't dry completely even with jet dry added, spots stemware and simply does not do a good job of cleaning. We now use it as a drying rack only.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

On the small side. My last dishwasher had a lot more room and I could load all my dirty dishes and get it done in one load. Now I hehe yo do two loads daily
