Worst Printer Ever

So very sorry that we purchased this terrible machine. Fails to print simple documents. stops in mid job and indicates error - but no error code or way to determine what has occurred. ALSO Fails when scanning to the Network. We wanted this model so that we could get 11x17 printing and scanning. We can not even get the machine to print out 8 1/2 x 11 print jobs without failing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better Printer

I originally bought the J6920 & had to return it b/c the paper feeder would always pull too many sheets of paper. This unit works much better. My only complaint is how the trays work with Airprint. Unfortunately, any Airprint will default to the upper tray where I have 4x6 photo paper. I called Brother, but there is no way to have Airprint default to the lower tray.

Constantly jams

If you use any paper other that letter size plain paper the printer will jam. When using photo paper it jams on almost every page. This printer is awful which is an understatement.

Great features

The Brother MFC-J6925DW all-in-one has great features at a reasonable cost. I especially like that the ink for this printer is reasonably priced and affordable. It probably works as advertised with Windows machines, but is not well-suited the Mac OSX environment. For one thing, it is difficult to set up and stabilize. After hours of trying to set it up to scan, I finally phoned Brother support and, spending an hour so on the phone with a very helpful representative, was able to get it to scan properly. As an experiencd OSX user, the support rep surprised me by taking me through menus both in the print driver software as well as Mac's wireless setup software that I had never encountered before. Compared to HP all-in-one printers, this Brother machine while promising more at a reasonable price do so by using software that is essentially incompatible with the Mac OS. If you want a printer that is easy to set up and works well with OSX, get an HP. If you want one that has great features and whose cost per copy is significantly less, then this Brother machine is much better--though be prepared to spend days trying to get all the functions to work reliably.
