Omitting bad odor

I found it fairly easy to install. I had a bit of difficulty getting the hose fastened securely, but once I did the rest was easy. I bought this unit last fall but didn't open the box until Spring when I was ready to use it. The unit had an odor when I opened the box, which I assumed would dissipate after a few days & a couple hours of use. I have now had the unit out of the box for 2 months & have run it for many hours & it still smells. It works fine, blows cold air, keeps accurate temperature...... but there's a distinct odor to the machine, even when it's not running. When the unit is running, it's not blowing the bad smell, it's literally in the plastic or something.
Pros: Accurate Temperature Controls, Easily Portable, Easy Window Installation
Cons: Energy Inefficient

Failed To Perform

Even in the winter, this unit is unable to cool my 250 square foot bedroom down to 62°. Did I mention that it is 30° outside?! The built in thermometer that controls the compressor always gives a false reading and never cools my room below 70°. Summer, Fall, Spring, Winter. No matter what season, it won't cool below 70°, even when the outside temperature is less than 70°. I have contacted customer service and they just told me to "buy a bigger one". Quite disappointed!

Love the cool air

So we have had some crazy hot days here in Downey California and I am so glad I purchased this unit. It kept our home very pleasant and at times it got a little chilly. Great product and I would recommend it to everyone

I use it all summer long! This is the second year and I still haven't had to drain it. I will definitely buy another one when I move.
