Definitely cools down pretty good.

Very good product. Cools down fast and efficiently. Air distribution coming from the port is not proportionate. Only half comes out of one side and the storage tub for the hose takes up part of the vent. Which in return does not blow cold air thru there. Good design in mind for storage but bad for product delivery. Hose is quite the issue to put on and off as it has no way to screw on or even clip on without having both sides completely off. Other units usually have a clip on side to the unit and a screw on hose to the window
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Temperature setting

I recently purchased this unit. So far, I believe I am going to like this. I am having trouble setting the temperature. I set it to 73 but wake up freezing and the temp in the room is showing 61.

My husband bought this specific model roughly 4 years ago when we lived in an apartment with no AC. We used it for a year, then moved to a place with central air. Then this unit went to my mom's little house when she didn't have AC. She used it for a year before moving. The unit sat in storage for almost two years and we recently pulled it out to loan to a friend with no AC in her apartment. This portable AC has been nothing less than excellent, reliable and it's so well-made. I like well engineered products and the fact that the exhaust hose is like a tough-made slinky that stores into the unit itself is fantastic because it means you don't lose or break the part if you treat it well. We did misplace the window kit parts that help you attach the unit to your window, but customer service was fast and easy and able to send us replacements in 2-days. I used the online chat and called in and the customer service reps were incredibly friendly and fast. If they didn't have an answer to a specific question, they told you, put you on a brief hold, and got the answer quickly. I cannot say enough good things about Newair. They really do support their products. On a side note: I also own one of their wine fridges that holds 18 bottles. Two years with the wine fridge and not one issue. Thank you, Newair!

I finally installed this unit, after using an AC-10100E for 2 years. The AC-12200E is a larger unit and puts out more BTU's. I was satisfied with the "first night performance".
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought two of these units one for a bedroom and one for my office. Installing them was very easy and they were running in less then a 1/2 hour. Blows out cold and cools the room fast. Completely satisfied at this point.

The Best A/C ever made!!

We bought 2 NewAir units for our desert home. The BEST decision we ever made as the temps hit over 120 degrees this year. Even though we had several wall A/C units they didn't circulate the cool air in the living room or dining areas. Our NewAir units were AMAZING in accomplishing exactly what was needed to keep us chilled out while cooking and eating. The incredibly movable units can go wherever you need to add some cooling to your life. By far the BEST purchase we made this year! Thank you NewAir!!
