Initially, the New-Air appliance leaked. The New-Air representative had me check the drain and then it worked fine. It really does help cool a hot room and is very portable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Remote Control Broken

This does a great job cooling a room. But, the remote control went out, so that is a bit inconvenient.

Disappointed

I had purchased an 8,000 at BJs and it didn't cool off the rooms completely. I bought this 12,000 hoping it would work better. I don't know if it's because it is so hot but it's been running for 3 days straight and still 87 degrees. The coolest it got down to was 76 and that was for a very short time. I even tried putting it closer to the window so that there wasn't so much slack in the exhaust hose.

Works well in a single enclosed room. The vent for the fan to blow air out can be directed somewhat, so that helps. Overall it's a good solution when a non-portable unit cannot be used. It is heavy, but's that's to be expected. It's loud, but that is expected too. It could stand to do a better job with air distribution, and the exhaust hose should come with some sort of insulation cover that you can put over it once in place so that the heat from it doesn't just radiate right back into the room. Overall it's a good looking, functional unit that doesn't cost much money.

The room, the room, the room. Despite what anyone says about any portable a/c unit's effectiveness, it is all relative to the exact room you are cooling. My office fits the dimensions for this unit, but it is poorly insulated: exterior wall of a metal structure, gaps in door seal, and a drop-ceiling. Therefore, it is unfair for me to criticize this unit simply due to a warm office space. This unit does blow cold air. I only used it is the drain mode and it drained well, in my case about a gallon a day so do not leave the unit running unattended for more than one night. Keep in mind my unit never reached the desired temperature due to the insulation issue mentioned above so it continued to run unless I turned it off. I also ran the air exhaust through the drywall and into the void between walls. This noticeably heated the wall, so once again I cannot fairly judge the unit's ability since conditions were not optimal. If my office had windows I definitely would have fed the exhaust using that option. Overall I believe that this unit is capable of its advertised performance capability, but in my case I either need a unit rated for higher capacity or more insulation around my office space.

Bought this unit about a month ago and am VERY disappointed. Air is not cold. When it is set on auto it does not shut off if and when the temperature is achieved. The dehumidifier is the only way to cool my room, but by the time I wake up I'm freezing because there's no way to set it to a certain temperature It is very loud for size, the size however it's great if it were correctly.
