Cool on hot days

This has been a real plus to have on warm days and nights. Cools the room quickly. I would definitely recommend this.

Hard to Install

I really like this, but is there an adapter for the hose? I have used duct tape to hold it on, on both ends. Should have there been some sort of kit? Have contacted new air twice, and no answer. If someone can help, please answer. I have to retape every couple of days!

Newair makes excellent portable AC units

My husband bought this specific model roughly 4 years ago when we lived in an apartment with no AC. We used it for a year, then moved to a place with central air. Then this unit went to my mom's little house when she didn't have AC. She used it for a year before moving. The unit sat in storage for almost two years and we recently pulled it out to loan to a friend with no AC in her apartment. This portable AC has been nothing less than excellent, reliable and it's so well-made. I like well engineered products and the fact that the exhaust hose is like a tough-made slinky that stores into the unit itself is fantastic because it means you don't lose or break the part if you treat it well. We did misplace the window kit parts that help you attach the unit to your window, but customer service was fast and easy and able to send us replacements in 2-days. I used the online chat and called in and the customer service reps were incredibly friendly and fast. If they didn't have an answer to a specific question, they told you, put you on a brief hold, and got the answer quickly. I cannot say enough good things about Newair. They really do support their products. On a side note: I also own one of their wine fridges that holds 18 bottles. Two years with the wine fridge and not one issue. Thank you, Newair!

Recently I placed it in my garage and keep the edge seasons tolerable in AZ. I don't expect it to cool all the way, so I set it to 90 degrees. I was surprised how swamp coolers cost almost as much as an AC unit like this.

Great portable design for new workshop!

I recently had the chance to preview this A/C unit and I was really pleased with what I saw. We are designing a workshop in our garage and looking for a unit that isn't very bulky, heavy or loud. This one moved around easily, has a slim design which will be perfect for storage when not in use. I love that its energy efficient, has a remote and is programmable. I got to see it in action in a large open space and the output of cold air was really good! The setup was very easy and it covers up to 425 sqft, which is plenty for our workshop. It can get hot and muggy in a garage and what really appeals to us is that it also dehumidifies and vents. The NewAir 12200E is at the top of our list. Looking forward to beginning this project!

Great ac unit

Perfect for cooling a hot living space when your power goes out due to a hurricane and you have to be on a generator. Takes minutes to set up, on wheels for easy movement. I feel better knowing that I have this account unit.
