Temperature setting

I recently purchased this unit. So far, I believe I am going to like this. I am having trouble setting the temperature. I set it to 73 but wake up freezing and the temp in the room is showing 61.

Omitting bad odor

I found it fairly easy to install. I had a bit of difficulty getting the hose fastened securely, but once I did the rest was easy. I bought this unit last fall but didn't open the box until Spring when I was ready to use it. The unit had an odor when I opened the box, which I assumed would dissipate after a few days & a couple hours of use. I have now had the unit out of the box for 2 months & have run it for many hours & it still smells. It works fine, blows cold air, keeps accurate temperature...... but there's a distinct odor to the machine, even when it's not running. When the unit is running, it's not blowing the bad smell, it's literally in the plastic or something.

Never again

I should return it the first day I got it. It is aloud noises and and it only goes two directions(up and down). I only used it during summer when it's hot and hardly use it. After 3 years the compressor is no good. The water kept filled up very 30 minutes. Looking for a new portable A/C that doesn't make s too much noise.

5.0 We purchased this Air-Conditioner for our son's dorm room. It had been unbearably hot and the fan in the window just wasn't cutting it. The NewAir is working great. It is small and sleek compared to one we had purchased 25 years ago and it isn't nearly as noisy like our old one was. My son and his roommate are very happy and when I asked how it was working he said: " Mom...The Room Is Chill" 'Nuff Said!
