The motor runs extremely smooth, it just hums. The variable slicing blade is the best addition to a food processor. You can easily change the thickness without having to take the bowl apart.

I had stopped using the old processor, preferring to chop, slice, grate, etc. by hand, but I am happy to have this new friend along for kitchen adventures!
