Best investment. Easey to clean and remove filter. Does the job of cooling like it says. Love the energy saver mode.

This is the best in window air conditioning unit I have come across. It is super quiet, it's extremely powerful and effectively cools down our entire upstairs floor. Our house isn't insulated and in summer the upstairs floor reaches into the 120s. It's only usefulness is to dry clothes because it's unbearable to be there. This time, with Portland summer going into the 100s, for the first time we have been able to use our upstairs floor, see clients in our office upstairs, work out, sleep, read, etc. It's totally comfortable and even keeps our downstairs much cooler!

Does the job but is on and off alot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems like there is an issue. It switches on for a couple of seconds then off. 20 or so seconds later it comes on and stays on. It does keep the room cool though so that is what's important. I got a filter error once where I could not tell what it wanted. I ended of turning it off and on. Anyway so long as it lasts I am happy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit last summer when my central unit stopped working. Unit was enlighten to cool half my home. My installation was easy, but others may require additional mounting hardware. Very pleased with unit.

Overall excellent but cheap clips

Overall very good AC, quiet operation. But the retaining clips on the bottom that hold the rail for the side louvres are very cheap plastic. I anticipate these will break off after 2-3 seasons if you're not careful. Which would render the AC useless unless LG can send you a supply of them to replace as you break them off installing/un-installing the AC. Otherwise would have been 5 stars across the board. The remote was cheesy too. You almost have to be directly in front of the AC for it to work. If you aim the remote at the AC from a side angle, it might not work,

GREAT value for the price

This unit replaced an older, smaller but similar LG unit. The other unit was relocated to another room. This newer model is easy to operate and easy to maintain. I especially like the automatic feature that restarts the air conditioner after a power outage. The filter on this newer model is also MUCH easier to remove and reinstall. Although a higher BTU rating, this newer unit fit in the same size opening as the previous unit, and the electric bill is NOT noticeably higher. The remote control is also a nice feature.

This unit is really "cool"

We bought this unit for what used to be my garage and is now a 400 square foot bedroom. It keeps the room as cool as the rest of the house unlike the old unit.
First time LG buyer and we love it. Installation took a little time but well worth the wait.
We are "chilling" now!
