Replacement for wall AC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this after my very old wall AC gave out. It was being used in a large living room that opens into a hallway which leads into a kitchen. The old one was there from previous owners and we used it for the last 10 years. The living room is 20’x21’ so the new AC needed to have the ability to cool off a large room. Well, so far this unit has been doing the trick. It’s not terribly loud and more importantly it does the job when it comes to keeping us cool. The summer has just begun but we’ll see how it goes. So far I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Dissapointed with rust appearing so soon!

I installed this A/C unit at the beginning of May 2016. We had quite a hot and humid summer in my area this year so the unit was operated quite frequently. However, I noticed that after less than 3 months of use, a lot of rust is already present inside the unit on the metal divider (metal plate between the front and back of the unit where the condenser coil is). There is also rust on the bottom of the unit in the same area and even in parts of the condenser coil. The unit is installed properly with at least 1/4 inch of pitch towards the back of the unit so the condensate water should eventually evaporate as the unit is in use. I'm disappointed with the quality of finish work of this unit and cannot recommend it as such. I guess Frigidaire spells out that no rust is covered in the warranty as probably this is a known issue and has not been corrected in the production of these A/C units.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Get's thebjob done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live on the top floor of a 5 story brownstone, with a tar roof and two southern exposure windows, so my apartment gets super hot in these record setting hot summer days and the air conditioner has the sun directly on it all day, making the job of cooling even tougher on the unit. Still, this unit keeps my apartment as cool as I like it, and without sending my electric bill through the tar roof!
I would recommend this to a friend!
