I think it's a great tool to have on your desk.I show it to everyone that comes in my office and hands me a business card. I then joke that I should be selling them part time!!!

Simple for a non-tech person

I was able to empty out a card drawer in my desk and get everything entered in two nights and transferred over to my Blackberry 8830. Wonderful!!!
Pros: Easy Setup, While I watched TV
Cons: Paid extra for BB connect

Awesome Time Saver For Any Office

CardScan Executive is an awesome business tool that I could not live without at the office! I'm so glad my IS department bought it for me and set it up in a breeze. I had hundreds of cards to input and had it done so quick I couldn't believe it. This product is a must have for an person that has business cards to enter!
Pros: Time Saving, Accurate Color, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Easy and quick to use, Excellent Software, Good Resolution

On average I scan 70+ cards a week. While I cannot imagine going back to a Rolladex, there are areas of CardScan that I would like to see improved. 1. Transferring the data to Outlook is VERY hit and miss – especially with telephone numbers. Cards that have multiple telephone numbers do not all transfer. 2. Nine out ten cards scanned need to be fixed before saving, especially those with international info or anything other than a basic clean scripted card. 3. I don’t use the AccuCard system any longer. Sadly this relies on other users to update their info, as needed, and it is amazing how many do not. After scanning over 700 cards to have the automated AC system update them back to their original incorrect info and then rescanning to fix most every one of these 700+ cards, you would never used this automated system either. If you want this option, I suggest you use the manual version and go thru every card to accept or decline the suggested revisions. I am a power user with 1000’s to date, so this does become quite a chore. 4. CardScan support – not impressed. I have also just upgraded to Office 2007 and am noticing a few other things that require further investigation (esp. synchronizing). All this being said – I still can’t imagine life without my CardScan. I would recommend this but would love for these issues to be addressed. One last thing – the system is great for viewing thru CardScan itself without Outlook being involved for a single user.

HOW TO KEEP PATIENTS HAPPY

As a physician I have to often call in prescriptions for refills for patients even when traveling out of town. It was always difficult to get the correct pharmacy telephone numbers until I got card scan. Now when called for a refill and I am not in the office I can call in refills and monitor patients progress and patients are much happier since they don't have to wait for office hours to get their refill. Thank you card scans I am a much more efficient physician and my patients are doing better on a timely basis.

CardScan software thinks for you. It asks what you want to do at the right time. Otherwise, it saves what you have done and allows you to perform the next task such as search or find a new contact name. You can't mess up.
Pros: Easy Setup, Software thinks for you, Accurate Color, CardScan stood behind war
Cons: Scanner didn't last long
