Simple and permanent

This is very useful for not only entering card data but also letterhead data. I just cut out the letterhead and scan through. Very useful. I like also the filtering and search facility.

Great product needs easier functionality

I scan in every card I get. Then I organoze them into groups. I often pull up e-mail lists to contact people on different projects and CardScan helps me maintain and organize those groups. It makes it very easy to e-mail them ut I wish it exported into Outlook easier and to a PDA so that you could keep all three devices up to date! Great product but harnessing that Microsoft engine is a must!

Wonderful Product

I work in a business where I meet alot of people everyday. I also have tons of paperwork on my desk I don't need tons of business cards also. This small handy device saves all of my business contacts and scans the business cards perfectly. It even updates any information my contacts may have changed and lets me know right away. It's a great tool and I'm absolutely satisfied.

Burn those business cards!

I was finally able to toss out my card folder, card file, and dusty card piles! Whenever someone hands me a card now, I zip it through the CardScan and hand it back to them! It OCRs the card info, from 90-100% accurate, depending on the fonts on the card. But you also have the image for future reference, like with handwritten notes, and you can add any other info to the record you like. And I can't lose a contact, since it backs online every time you use it! And you can access your cards from the web anywhere, for free. Very nice. With a superb full-text search, you type in any word or name from the card or other info, and the matching cards instantly list. Really, I don't see how it could be improved.

Reasonable Solution to Scanning Cards

Not a bad solution but be prepared to edit the scans considerably if you are using cards in a wide variety of formats and you need to export the data to another tool. Has a hard time recognizing where data should go so I end up copying data around the fields quite a bit. I get lots of foreign cards and these invetitably require editing. And technical titles are a struggle to get right. Overall its still better than typing if you have a large number of cards.

The ability to sync with Outlook sold me on the product. If cardscan did not have this feature I would not have purchased it.
