I like the ease of use and the net storage when I travel.

I scan all business cards and toss the cards. I am trying to become paperless as much as possible. It is nice to have the image of the business card. The search is great and very quick. That is the best part. It would be nice for it to synch to various contact sources like gmail, yahoo mail and outlook all at the same time keeping all of the contacts in one place but sortable by source /location. It would also be nice for it to send a user configurable email out every year to every email address to verify if they are still active, and give a report of all those that no longer work and option to delete them from the database.

This is the perfect tool following trade shows when you have multiple business cards to enter in to your contacts. This will save you plenty of time to be out where you need to be, selling!

Powerful but not portable

If you're like most people you have stacks of business cards that sit in some drawer - being able to search them - particularly in terms of when you got them and where, is highly valuable for networking and reconnecting to folks. When I process a group of cards, I always mark in the notes field the "where". Today, in conjunction with social networking sites such as LinkedIn I have a much better handle on the folks I meet. Cardscan is expensive and office-based (wish I could take the scanner on the road - maybe someday the camera on my smart phone could snap a picture of the cards at conferences...

This product saved my live when Outlook contact database crashed and I lost my current client database. I was able to recover everything from the online service. I also love the AutoUpdate to the contacts.

i also use it to scan checks since the bank gives out really cruddy copies. sure would be nice if card scan had an app to specifically do this.
