Product is easy to use, I find it has some difficulties when it comes to wierd fonts or colour combinations, but overall it is good. I still cannot combine data on the device's software and any of mine PDA software due to Windows Vista compatibility, but I think it is my issue not the product's.

Works for Lotus Notes

My company uses Lotus Notes, and is pretty restrictive about software interfacing with Lotus Notes. I found the Cardscan software easy to install, and that it interfaces well with Lotus Notes. It does really round out the many rough edges of Lotus Notes. One downside is the drag-n-drop feature does not work from a LN email, so I work around by cut-n-pasting the contact info into a Word Doc, and dragging that into the Cardscan software. I think it saves me a significant amount of time capturing contact info. I feed cards (1-@-a-time -- UGH!) while I'm on conference calls, and deal with duplicates and verifying that Cardscan got the card info correctly while watching TV at night. You do have to verify - it is not perfect! You have to feed the cards in straight and you need to make sure that info on the back side is captured as well, by flipping the card over. Overall I'm pretty satisfied, again, because it makes getting contact info into Lotus Notes and my Blackberry a breeze.

Ready, Set, Scan!!

I scan dozens of biz cards a week and while I can't imagine going back to a Rolladex system, there are areas of CardScan that I would like to see improved. 1. Transferring the data to Outlook is VERY hit and miss – especially with telephone numbers. Cards that have multiple telephone numbers do not all transfer to Outlook (any version of Outlook. 2. Nine out ten cards scanned need to be fixed before saving, especially those with international info or anything other than a basic clean scripted card. 3. I don’t use the AccuCard system any longer. Sadly this relies on other users to update their info, as needed, and it is amazing how many do not. After scanning over 700 cards to have the automated AC system update them back to their original incorrect info and then rescanning to fix most every one of these 700+ cards, you would never used this automated system either. If you want this option, I suggest you use the manual version and go thru every card to accept or decline the suggested revisions. I am a power user over 5000 cards to date, so this does become quite a chore. 4. CardScan support – not impressed. I have also changed to Office 2007 and I'm noticing a few other things that require further investigation (esp. synchronizing). All this being said – I still can’t imagine life without my CardScan. I would recommend this but would love for these issues to be addressed. One last thing – the system is great for viewing thru CardScan itself without Outlook being involved, for a single user.

Cardscan has been a life saver for me. I attend many networking events, so I collect a lot a cards on a weekly basis. Since using Cardscan I have been able to organize my business cards and maintain business and personal contacts more effetively. I love my cardscan! (^_^)
