Nice Sync with Lotus Notes & Blackberry

I used CardScan Executive to scan in 750 business cards and contact information from numerous emails. Over the years, I had only copied partial business card contact information into my Lotus Notes / BlackBerry address book. I also had a lot of contact information from emails only -- the phone/address that is often in the signature block of emails. I had no way to automatically enter the data nor a good way to search for information. CardScan Executive made it easy to sync scanned business card data to Lotus Notes / Blackberry and to cut & paste additional contact information from emails directly into CardScan. Now I can find my contact information much faster than before and the information is accurate and complete!

More useful than expected...

Great unexpected benefits! Sufficiently reliable to make our loading of old business cards worthwhile. In conjunction with our field force management software we are able to uncover relationships more quickly than we had previously been able to. After years of considering and rejecting the purchase of a card scanner, the time was right to try one out again. We had some time and a stack of trade show cards. (Yes, we did optically scan barcodes on attendee badges but too often we don't/can't scan important attendees.) Three of us used it over the course of a week and found it far more useful than expected. I am even using it to quickly scan receipts, with limitations. The only cons I found are: 1) very thin cards will skew; then, again, a very thin business card says something, doesn't it! 2) perhaps because of this thickness limitation, it is not marketed for receipt scanning. Too bad; I'd certainly pay another 33%-50% if that add-on were available.

CardScan Simplifies Business Networking

I use my CardScan for business cards collected during business networking events such as chamber of commerce luncheons and BNI meetings. I have it set up to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook, which, in turn, synchronizes with my Motorola Q phone. In one easy action, I scan in the cards from an event, identify the event with a custom category code, and CardScan does the rest! Accuracy is as good as it gets. Once a month, I print out the cards in alphabetic order in a format that shows the image of the card, which eliminates the need to resort the cards every so often.
