Cardscan Executive is a must for all business minded who are meeting daily with clients and have that mass of cards just laying around. CSEX keeps you orgainized and up to date. CSEX web service keeps you connected no matter where you are. Best buy for the money and the ease of use

I like the fact this program runs very smoothly and efficiently without interfering with other windows applications. Cardscan not only opens right away but its database is so well programmed I always have the right contact information at the right time. Its Quicksearch produces instant results, no waiting time. Thank you Cardscan for making my job so much easier.

Don't try using it on the fly. Read the tips and train yourself, it only gets better.

Cardscan's value proposition

Cardscan works. It made my life easier because I could now manage the contact information of the people I was meeting. Plus, it synchronized with ACT! and I was able to export the cardscan output to my Blackberry. For anyone who has tried to sync their Blackberry with ACT, it is a nightmare. Plus, to complicate matters further, I'm running Windows on my Macbook via Parallels, since ACT! is only a Windows program.

Good product - Needs a little more

It is a good product and I use it weekly especially after coming back from my business trips with a handful of new cards. I see that it is inconsistent when scanning the same format of business cards from people at the same compay. It picks different fields for company name, title, etc. Many times it is not populating the fields with the right data that it scanned from the card - this makes it very time consuming to edit the cards it scanned. It sometimes tries to OCR graphic pictures. It can not OCR text that is not on a straight line for example on a curved line. I had some challenges in getting it to properly synchonize with my Outlook. I contribute this to not finding the Sync Wizard easy to understand what it was I was selecting. At one point it placed contacts into my Outlook that I had not yet qualified creating a mess in my Outlook Contacts. Another time it ended up deleting most all of my contacts in my Outlook Contacts list (deleted around 700 contacts). Fortunately I had created a Cardscan backup prior to this event, so I loaded in the Cardscan backup file, manually sync'ed it with Outlook to restore the deleted contacts and then I turned off the sync to Outlook.. Today, I do not sync btween Outlook and Cardscan because of fear that I would get into some situation. The sync wizard needs to be made more intuitive and understandable. I mainly use Cardscan today just to scan in cards many times not taking the time to edit all the fields. I use Cardscan to hold a graphic image of the card so that if I need to go back and look up a phone number or email address, i will just look up the graphic image that it scanned in. As I access these cards, I will mostly take the time to edit and correct the fields that have been incorrectly populated. I believe I understand how I need to configure the sync with Outlook and that is to only sync Verified contacts and only sync from Cardscan to Outlook. I am not interested in having Cardscan contain all the contacts that I have in my Outlook Contacts where I do not have a business card.
Pros: Easy To Use, Very fast scanning
Cons: Unreliable Performance, Inconsistent scanning

I truly love this product. It has allowed me to throw away all the thousands of business cards that I have accumulated over the years from business associates. With this program I not only can have all the necessary contact imported within a few seconds of scanning; I also get a digital image of their card which I can then organize by category. The program then allows me to make quick lookup searchs and synchronizes with my contact management program.
