I previously would not take the time to enter all these contacts into my database. Now, I enter the new cards every month.

GREAT resource with minor quirks

We have a relatively large contact database and use cardscan for: - categorizing to track sources of leads - categorizing to track leads' industries - categorizing to prioritize prospects - categorizing to track marketing campaigns - maintaining notes regarding contact attempts - quick way to find contacts by almost any information - easy way to cross reference information - visual way to match a name with a face when viewing the cards - quick and easy way to create sublists that can be used with other programs for specific contact purposes. What we love about Cardscan: - quick way to find contact by any details contained in their record - quick and easy way to enter new contacts - visual cues to match the face w/ the company - ability to create lists by categories - At Your Service - very nonthreatening (and FREE)way to maintain contact with those in database quarterly, as well as keeping info current - syncs with MS Outlook - can look up online with At Your Service What drives us crazy about cardscan: - After scrolling down the list of categories / names for 30 seconds, it often randomly jumps up 300 names, then have to find where we were again - clicking on categories - rarely goes to where you clicked until you've clicked on it a second time (jumps away too, so you have to find it again) - even worse when it's a category within a category - syncing can be quirky - have to frequently save file with alternate file names (ie: with dates as part of file name) in case information is lost when syncing with Outlook or At Your Service. - Also end up with a lot of duplicates to sort through when syncing info. - Time to load gets a little out of control when the database gets to be 2000 contacts or more - As the database grows, contact searches bring up pretty random matches Other things we'd change about cardscan (if we were king): - would be nice to have an option to mark a category as a "subcategory only" that you can assign to a specific main category & easily find in a search without cluttering up your main category list - would be nice to have an easier way to manage and customize category assignment.

Cons: Needs subcategory feature, Sync w At UR Svc quirky, Syncing w Outlook quirky, slow, Jumps from where U click

Cardscan has made the clutter disappear. No longer are business cards on my desk, in my briefcase and hidden in files. For once in my 25+ year career, I'm organized. Thank you!

CardScan keeps my contact information only seconds away. Storing, transfering and sharing this information with different programs is simple and fast.

I use for business cards from trade events. its a major time saver that organizes my contacts and exports to my data bases for easy access. From my perspective, it's a home run.
