When buying my first projector I looked around for a long time. When i started looking i realized that Epson was the best projector seller. They had the most products of any company. When I came arcossed the Megaplex MG-850 HD I was shocked. I was worried about it only having 720p, but that was unoticeable. The screen felt like the movies and amazingly played remarably well in light and dark conditions, expectally for only playing on a white sheet (we haven't bought our screen yet). I am so happy i purchased this product and the fact that it has an ipod dock for all those ipod fanatics gives it that extra wow factor i was looking for.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my first projector so I don't have previous experience to compare with. Anyway I think it does great performance. Easy to use. I would like this projector with more resolution.

It is portable, light weight, easy set up, easy remote operation, excellent image quality. I just hope light sourse is long life.

Great Hom Fun

At this point I've only used it one night and it was great. The sound was pretty darn good for a projector. The covers for the ports are easy to get misplaced as they detach from the projector. When the IPAD is installed you also can not get to a few of the input ports. I'm worried that with no onboard projector controls of losing the remote and being out of luck. It's going to be a fun summer watching movies under the stars.

I was looking for a projector that I could use for an occasional PC presentation and at home with my iPAD. I quickly learned that there are trade offs with projectors, that one size does not fit all. Then I discovered the Megaplex 850HD.
This is technically a home theater projector yet small enough to carry away from home for that occasional presentation in a conference environment. While I've only used it a short while I found it to set up easily and works perfectly with my PC and iPAD. The picture is bright (even in economy mode), sharp, and the machine runs quietly. The built-in speakers are adequate but external speakers can be used with the source, eg iPAD, to realize true stereophonic sound when streaming videos with music.
In short, I think this machine perfectly fits what I had in mind.

TO conclude I hope Epson continues to make and improves this projector. I would most definitely buy another one when the time comes to replace it.

Beautiful picture easy to set up I use this for outdoor movies and some football and concert films Movies look great the color is on the mark and the blacks look just fine the price was right Movies look just as good as the old drive ins did Epson has made going to the drive in a reality once again thanks Epson

850HD Projector

The unit is easy to set-up and use, the brightness excellent and the clarity of the projection easy to fine tune.
The interface with an iPad is moderate at best, the connection acceptable but far more flimsy than I would have expected.
I also thought of this as a portable unit, so the absence of a carrying case seems like an oversight.
I would recommend this to a friend!
