Love it!!

I love my new megaplex 850hd! But please know that in order to play VUDU movies or Netflix you MUST have an iPad! It will not work w the iPod nor iPhone to play movies from Netflix or VUDU! But with the iPad it works great! I'm happy that I do have an iPad because if I didn't I would've returned the projector!!! But other than that it is great love it!!! The picture is great and sounds great!

Why it's good but not perfect

This projector is quite amazing. Frees me from having to travel to meetings with my laptop. Working with iPad video was a challenge at first, but once I figured out how to do it, I was impressed, especially with sound quality. Biggest problem is the remote. If you do not have it with you, e.g. leave it behind in the office, there seems to be no workaround. Without the remote, you are absolutely stuck. I am going to see if I can get a second remote to carry with me all the time. It is possible I can velcro the remote to the projector to always have it with me.

excellent home/business projector

Does a great job of combining a high quality projector with apple docking with a sound system (including connecting a microphone). I use it in schools mostly. The only possible downside is that I wish the audio was just a little bit louder. The sound gets a bit washed out in a large room like an auditorium, but other than that, I absolutely love it.

Another innovation from Epson

I have used Epson products for many years and have always been impressed with their innovations. This projector is another good example. We watched a movie from our iPad through the built-in dock on the projector. Great image. Easy to operate with good menus. I have seen other projectors in school classrooms and Epson products continually impress.

I love it!! easy to use, just what I needed to take to group meetings,being able to direct connect my IPad and not having to carry speakers with me was a big plus it has a great sound and picture. Movies at home are pretty awesome too! Would recommend it for sure.

No matter what adjustments I make to the image, there is always a yellow tint to the image. When the projector is on, you can even see a yellow tint inside the projector where the lamp is located. It mostly appears in the upper half of the projected image.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After reading ecstatic reviews on this projector I decided to get it with Epson's money-back assurance. My main worry was that the picture would be disappointing when judged against my excellent 46inch Sony LCD. Well, it turns out that the LCD still wins (obviously) but the Epson runs it a very decent second while providing the large-screen movie experience I wanted. It is useable in "normal" light and VERY nice at night: bright, sharp. I also purchased an Epson screen -- a necessity with projectors, I think.
I did have one glitch in getting it up & running with my system. When I tried to connect it directly via HDMI to my AT&T cable-box/DVR it refused to play sound on HD material. Regular video was fine, but HD audio came across as a roar. Calls to support yielded suggestions and I finally tracked down the problem to direct connections to the AT&T box; when I routed the HDMI signal via my receiver (which is what I really should have done, so the Epson would provide the picture and my home speakers the sound) everything was perfect.
The projector controls are easy and logical and the overall experience very satisfying. My only real wish for this unit is that it would provide direct support for playing VOB/.iso files directly from an attached hard drive. But this is a detail -- the unit functions just as advertised.
And that large picture definitely improves the experience.
