Disapointing in paragliding sports
on July 17, 2014
Posted by: pboyer
This sportcam doesn't manage well the exposure between the cloudy sky and ground. If you shoot at an angle of 1/3 sky and 2/3 of the ground, the sky appears overexposed and way too much bright which is uggly.
When using the waterproof case, the sound feedback isn't loud enough to inform you if you' start or stop shooting as the case muffle the audio feedback way too much. Many times I've stopped filming a great scene thinking I was starting a new shooting. So you just become confused if this is filming or not, you absolutely don't know....
The remote doesn't provide a clear feedback if you're filming or not. There's a red dot that appears but you don't see it when it's sunny. So once more I stop filming when I want to start shooting, and I get confused by lack of feeback.

blurry underwater
on June 6, 2014

the case that comes with this is 'waterproof', not underwater ready!!! so what you'll get is blurry photos and videos.
Response from sony.comBy Amanda, Sony Support, June 10, 2014
Are you using the underwater/waterproof case that is sold separately? The camera alone is only splash-proof not waterproof. Therefore, underwater pictures may not come out clear.

stay away

bad bad choice. I will punish SONY by not buying anything else from this company for the rest of my life. The housing provided with the kit (spk-as2) as the one I bought extra (spk-as1) cannot record underwater (ONLY blurry images, because of the door design). So, brilliant SONY makes a new flat door AKA-RD1A but sells it again (not for free if you have already paid for the useless housing). So you buy the new flat door and you think everything is OK. NO! with a dive to 22m (says up to 60m) the door takes water inside the housing. SO STAY MILES AWAY

The camera has a terrible form factor.
on December 10, 2014

The camera has excellent specifications. However, because of the form factor, it is useless as an action. The camera cannot be attached to clothing. To attach the camera, you need to buy additional bulky and heavy mount adapters. For this reason, the small weight of the camera is irrelevant. The camera cannot be used while fishing, hunting, walks in forests and mountains. Fishing line, bushes, tall grass catch on the camera adapters. It is not possible to attach camera onto the windshield of the car, as well as to use it as a dashboard camera. HX-A500H Panasonic camera’s form factor is much better. Sorry.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sony Action Cam Is Junk
on February 22, 2015
Posted by: Anonymous
Save your money and time. I purchased this junk/boat anchor over a week ago and still have not been able to shoot a picture or movie. I should have gone GoPro. Except I liked the footprint better. Dumb decision.
It is definitiely not an Nikon. The out-of-box to taking pictures/movies is definitiely an obstacle. I hope you have lots of time to grub for answers on the Internet.
Then the Write A Review is a fault plauged do-loop. It took a number of loops to go through to reach a actual point of writing.
The HDR AS100V has a long way to go without any useful instruction. The paper that came in the box had no English instructions although the box was labled in English. You have to guess and search the Internet before you reach the two specific Sony artifacts on this camera.
Processing through the Date/Time setup was standard as was the rest of the Setup procedure flow.
The biggest failure/disappointment was the TOTAL lack of a meaningful definiton of what the display screen icons and Phrases mean.
Take a look at the Nikon instructions if you really want to see how to go about learning how to use a camera.
Junk, Junk, Junk. Too bad too, I have a Sony 19" monitor which is a Five Star Plus. So so much product loyalty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great camera. It has tons of features and super good quality. Its not to heavy and i can barely feel it on my helmet when I go on a downhill ride.
