I bought this Microwave to replaced an older Wards MW. This one has many of the same features as my older one. However, when I got it home I noticed a huge difference in weight. This unit seems to be of cheaper construction. Also, it doesn't perform as well as the other one did.
Currently we've started to experience issues with some of the programmable functions not working. This will be my last GE MW. If a unit can't last for a few years without issues then we have a problem.
My recommendations would be to look at other units.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ideal for cooking or reheating large portions. Items are cooked/reheated evenly and quickly. Display controls are easily readable. Great product for the price.

I bought a GE microwave due to GE making good products. I have had the microwave less than a year and it works great. No problems. The price was reasonable too.

purchased approx. 10 months ago. I am very pleased! being 71 years of age, I do not cook often,we have meals prepared and served in a dining room at the retirement apartment where I reside. I depend on my microwave to perform many times daily. I love the reheat cycle!! I have brought home fine steak and fish dinners from the restaurant (s) any item is reheated as though it were fresh cooked!!! This is really a wonderful feature used daily, I LOVE IT.
