Underwhelmed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My FFTR1814QB0 refrigerator is a little over a year old, the icemaker quit working and the fridge door handle has broken. How does a handle break and icemaker quit so soon? We are not hard on our belongings.

Hey Jbrtr, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I hate to hear that the ice maker has stopped working. I truly understand how displeasing this can be for you and your family. Have you recently changed the water filter? We do recommend changing the water filter about every six months depending on the usage. Once the pores in the filter become clogged with debris the water is unable to move through the filter effectively. If changing the filter does not prove to be successful, you may require additional assistance. Hope this helps! -Jennifer

great garage fridge ........BUT.................

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is our garage fridge .used mostly for beer and soda .heres the BUT.the shelves cannot be adjusted to hold 3 shelves of beer sized cans . not a very bad problem ......the freezer is a great size .. and so far it is holding up well in our garage and its winter time here in NC

Had to have this frig replaced 3 times. I still have to turn it up all the way to get it cold. The door is not level. Got tired of having the thing exhanged all the time.

Dee57, thank you for sharing your refrigerator experience with us. On behalf of Frigidaire, I would like to apologize for any frustration and inconvenience this has given you and your family. I am so sorry to hear that the refrigerators when delivered had damage to them. This is absolutely not the experience we wish upon any of our consumers. Is the refrigerator located where the ambient temperature is below 55°F? If the refrigerator is in a garage or other area where the temperature is below 55° F, you may experience freezer temperature problems. It is recommended to adjust the controls to the coldest setting to improve the performance. If this is not applicable, please do a visual check of the gasket to ensure it has a good seal. If the gasket is coming out of the channel, please follow these steps:
1) Clean the gasket with a wet soapy cloth, then rinse and dry.
2) Feed the gasket back into the retaining channel, ensuring the gasket is secure all around the door.
If the gasket is fully seated in the retaining channel, but still doesn’t not seal completely, use a hair dryer to carefully heat the gasket while the door is closed. Be careful not to damage the interior door panel or gasket by applying too much heat!
If gasket seal is still open after you have done these steps, flip the gasket 180 degrees:
1) Completely remove the gasket from the retaining channel around the door edge.
2) Rotate the gasket half a turn (180 degrees).
3) Reinstall the gasket by inserting the corners first into the retaining channel (kind of like a popular plastic storage bag that zips to lock).
4) Work the gasket towards the middle, ensuring that it is fully seated in the retaining channel.

Not cooling enough

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been about 8 months since I bought this refrigerator. Seems as though the refrigeration section is not cooling enough using a thermometer. The temperature setting manual dial is cheap and archaic and should have been discontinued years ago.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
