Its a refrigerator

Freezer doesn't do a great job at freezing ice cream. No matter what shelf I put it on, how empty of full it is, and with the freezer on the highest setting, it doesn't work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

mamapgh, so sorry to hear about your ice cream experience with your refrigerator. Ice cream composition plays a role in its tendency to freeze; ice creams with higher water content may freeze at warmer temperatures than those with higher fat and sugar content. I would suggest storing your frozen goodies in the rear of the freezer compartment on the bottom (cold air sinks) where there is less air flow. We bought this to replace a unit that we had in our carport. We just wanted basic, but one that would be okay out on the carport. It said ti was "garage ready". So far, so good.
