Good for Overflow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this fridge as an inexpensive backup when our kitchen refrigerator suddenly stopped working and we found out it would be two weeks before we could get a repair. I was a bit disappointed that it is not what they term "garage friendly" but we installed a small fan on a shelf near it and aimed it at the back of the box. We're hoping this will prove to be enough airflow to keep it working in the garage during hot Florida summer temperatures because we're really enjoying having a second fridge for the usual overflow we accumulate when we're expecting company. Runs well, keeps everything at the correct temperature and the frost free freezer is a big bonus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does Not Freeze

We had a fridge in our garage for 15 years. A few months ago it finally stopped working. We bought this to replace it. Items in the freezer do not freeze if the temperature drops below a certain level. It does not say this anywhere except the owners manual....which means you already own the unit. There is a relatively inexpensive part called a thermostat heater/garage heating unit you an install. We are in the process of getting one. Not sure if it will solve the issue 100%....and then what happens in the summer?
Just be warned in advance if you are buying for your garage.

Hello, Lamf77. I can understand your concern with using the fridge in a garage. The manual states, "Do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will drop below 55°F (13°C) or rise above 110°F (43°C). The compressor will not be able to maintain proper temperatures inside the refrigerator." With the use of the garage kit, it will allow the fridge to operate properly in temperatures that are 34F-110F. We do offer these manuals for viewing on our website prior to purchase, but we will pass the information along to see if the information could be more noticeable. ~ Brandi
