I bought this as a replacement for the previous model. This unit is very loud and makes a lot of noises. I've also noticed the freezer does not seem as cold as the previous version.

Hello Cariboub! The estimated yearly energy cost for your refrigerator model FFTR1814QW is $48.00. Our new refrigerators are designed to be more efficient in that they use newer components and run at a consistent speed/temperature for a longer period of time using less energy. If your refrigerator is located in a non-humid and not warm environment and you have set your appliance to the appropriate temperature settings (37ºF for refrigerator and 0ºF for your freezer section) you should notice that it runs at a lower speed for a longer period of time. This is one way it is designed to save on energy. Appliances use more energy when they constantly turn off and on. Our refrigerators are designed to allow the fan components inside to run after the compressor turns on. This allows the internal components to cool and the machine to rest even though you may still hear something running. We welcome you to view the normal operating sounds located in your use and care guide. We ask that if you have any current questions or concerns, please contact us directly. Kindest regards –

Will refrigerator get to 30 degrees ?
on July 28, 2015

My first one was delivered one week ago today. The freeze stayed at zeto with no problem, but the refrigerator on the coldest setting only went to 40 degrees. Which for meat storage is unexceptible. The replacement was delivered 14 hours ago and set on the coldest setting. It is showing 43°. That better drop a bunch in the next 12 hours or I am done with the manufacturer.

Hey Tomt! We do appreciate you leaving commentary on your experience. I understand you are experiencing icicles and frost in your refrigerator. This could be from your refrigerator not being leveled back. Make sure refrigerator is level side to side and tilted about ¼ inches back allowing your doors to close. Keep food and containers from blocking the door closing. You can also double check your door seals. To do this place a dollar bill between the body of your refrigerator and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then your door gasket may need to be replaced. Another suggestion would be to check and see it the condenser is dirty. A dirty condenser blocks air that dissipates the heat that the condenser removes from the unit. Clean the condenser every 6 months and more if you have animals in the house. Make sure debris is not in the condenser fan stopping it from turning. If you have any additional questions, please contact us directly. Kind Regards

Temperature control doesn't work - brand new
on September 16, 2015

Bought this and brand new out of the box it didn't work. I thought perhaps I wasn't giving it enough time for the temperature to adjust (being new it needed to 'warm up) and so I let it sit for a week. After a week, I even filled the fridge and shifted food around to see if it would regulate better, and no matter what setting I put everything on, one day everything is frozen, the next day everything is in a puddle (mind you this is without me touching any of the temp controls).

Hello, little red! Welcome to the Frigidaire family. With your new high-efficiency refrigerator it may make unfamiliar sounds. These are all normal sounds and soon will become familiar to you. The sounds indicate your appliance is operating as designed. Hard surfaces, such as vinyl or wood floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make sounds more noticeable. Modern, high-efficiency compressors operate much faster than older models. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. If the noise becomes louder, please contact us directly. We appreciate your comments and the continuing support of our Frigidaire Brand. – Best Regards
