Makes a loud popping noise (like ping-pong balls popping around) for several seconds when it first turns on. Also, ice builds up on the bottom of the freezer door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am pleased with the unit. It keeps things cold in the frig and frozen in the freezer, which is what it's supposed to do. There is a noise in the freezer when it starts up that concerns me, like somethings loose. But once it runs for a few minutes it gets quiet again.
