We bought this without plans to do so. Our old one was not that old to us. However, the closed freon system did not agree with us. They delivered it to our liking. I notice that the doors do not close on their own as some of our previous units did, especially the freezer. I guess we got the least expensive with its quirks.

Does the job

Have only had it a few months, so this review is based on that time frame- usually the time where there are no issues. We need this for the garage, and since new units generally don't work in the garage in the winter, we had the additional garage package added (built in inside), and it works great. Fridge unit is big enough, but the only disappointment is the freezer is smaller than our old unit. But glad to have an extra fridge in the garage again!

We bought this after our old side by side finally died after 15 years. We have been pleased with the amount of fridge space and adequate freezer space.
