Unusable software

I am returning the scanner. The software is impossible -- both the Epson scanning software, and the Silverlight that comes with it. Both remind me of DOS programs in the '80's (especially the "documentation"). I wanted to be able to put four photos at a time on the scanner bed and scan them in with minimal manual work. Perhaps it is possible, but I was unable to figure out how. The actual image quality on the scans I completed was good, but the workflow was a nightmare.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Scanning photos and negatives

I bought this to scan negatives - nitrate, safety film, and glass. It works fine once I figured out all the settings to adjust but it is really slow.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Scanner, but

I have V600 and V700 and used extensively, taking this V800 out of the box, I tried registering it immediately and was told my serial number was not valid. I called to get it straightened out and was told one of the characters printed on the box and on the printer was incorrect. This was the 3rd character that fits the v800 scanner, where a U was swapped for a V. I then registered successfully using the 'new' serial number. I would expect to rate the product use as 5 stars, but hope I never have a problem with it and find a warranty issue !

Opened box, found skimpy directions in four languages, followed set up instructions 1 thru 5 as pictures showed and accomplished initial scan. However I cannot get the scanner to do the next image...seems like there is no power to the machine, checked connections several times, downloaded info from startup disc and basics. Connected to a new 27" iMac bought 3 mths ago with Adobe Photoshop CS5.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the Scanner but...

the film holders are made with plexiglass and they are full of static and attract dust. Almost impossible to get a clean scan, therefore, there is a great deal of touch up in Photoshop.
I would recommend this to a friend!
