I have just finished scanning 2000 slides, some dating back 80 years.
This scanner did a great job in record time.

Used to have great features

The Epson V800 used to have a wonderful feature - automatically recognizing all twelve slides in the slide tray and scanning them individually. With the latest EpsonScan 2, the scanner no longer has that feature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally a Quality Scan

I use this scanner to scan negative and positive film. It scans all of them without a problem. The scan then allows me to work the scanned photo on other photo enhancement software. I do not need to look any further for a better scanner.

Versatile Scanner
on June 29, 2020

Epson has a solid product in this scanner, however, it does have a learning curve. Setting up is easy. But you must have SilverFast software installed to really use it. I made one basic scan flatbed on a photo and it was excellent with no breaking. However, my project I bought the scanner for is 800 slides from 40 years ago; I finally, after looking at a lot of Silverfast videos and reading manuals over and over, figured out how to scan the slides. The process is slow, but accurate. Lots of work to go, but it does a good job. I decided to use the flatbed as it was more versatile than buying an expensive slide scanner, which I would not need after this project.

Wonderful Scanner!!

I'm a 53 year old professional photographer who has been making negatives and transparencies of every different shape and size all of my life. 35mm, 35mm Panorama, 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9, 6x17, 4x5, 5x7, and 8x10. This scanner will handle everything! I recently switched to a new 2020 MacBook Pro with USB-C, so I got a USB-C to printer USB, and it works very well! Software is current! It isn't fast by any means, but the files I get are amazing! I just used my calculator on the dimensions of a 4x5 B&W negative. To put it into perspective for the digital photographer...292.3MP!
