Too bad where I live this is no decent broad band internet connection available to try the streaming capabilities reliably. I'm an avid movie watcher, which is by DVD & Blu-ray discs. Bought this one to see how the 'upscaling' works with Blu-ray discs, which is to say the picture is even better. Can hardly tell the difference between an up scaled Blu-ray movie disc and an actual '4K' Blu-ray movie disc.
Hoped it would find my TiVo Roamio OTA automatically but it didn't, it found my Sony 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player without any problem. The digital optical connection on the TV allows me to use my sound bar, the TV speakers are OK. But a sound bar is a definite PLUS when watching movies.
A voice controlled TV Smart Remote I have no use for since it relies again on a decent broad band internet connection, so I disabled the voice section on the remote.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: none so far
I would recommend this to a friend!

The network connection is slow. The processor is slow. The picture quality is excellent. The TV would be excellent if it had better smart processing power and a better user interface.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My new TV is 10 years better that the old one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really remarkable the changes that have been made since I bought my first Samsung TV ten years ago. The picture on my new set are so life-like. so sharp and colorful. I revel in all these changes, but the change I so enjoy every time I turn my new set on or off is the one that did away with that obnoxious chime! Thanks so much!

Gorgeous picture. Great Look.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has nice even picture across the entire screen. No dull/dark areas when viewed off center. YouTube is incredibly fast, responsive, usable. Wish it came with analog audio output, but it was easy to find a DAC on Amazon for $13 so I could hook it up to may stereo. Now I can play Spotify thru my system.

Not smart enough!

It is a beautiful TV however limited to specific apps. It has reach colors, and the blacks are dark, not grayish. Speakers are clear and loud. Easy to setup and use. However, Samsung needs to work on their app library. For example, a basic app like a fireplace or fish tank is missing.
Pros: Bright display, Built-in speakers
Cons: limited app library

Great TV but you could have included the screws!

Neither the recommended mount or my Anti-Tip strap would work because nothing comes with a long enough screw to reach the recessed holes. Uneven back requires spacers, long screws, etc. to make any mount work. Simply stick 4 screws in this $899 package.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome screen, marred by complex software

I upgraded my previous non-4K Samsung TV with this one, expecting a straight-forward upgrade process. I really just wanted to get ready for 4K content, not learn an entirely new operating system, but alas, with the advancing of the future comes increasing technological complexity.
Gone is the straightforward onscreen menu system in favor of a strange accordian design that shrinks horizontally to compress buttons on the screen. I can see how this design would make sense when you need to address many different screen widths and dimensions, but it just feels like a compromise that doesn't work well at any scale, especially on a 55" display.
Additionally, I couldn't just plug my receiver into the TV through HDMI. Instead I had to connect to an intermediary Smart Hub, rendering parts of my receiver redundant without simplifying anything. All this complexity! For what?
That said, if I didn't have all this existing gear, I guess I'd appreciate all the stuff built into this TV. It's just more than I had before, and more than I need now. Maybe over time I'll appreciate all these bells and whistles, but for now I'm left feeling nostalgia for my previous TV and for simpler days.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Lightweight, thin, ecomode
Cons: too complex
I would recommend this to a friend!
