Wife Loves It!

We saved money because my wife wanted the pedestals and this had a built in riser. We bought the matching dryer and clothes are dryed twice a quick than with our old unit. Also this washer uses half of the energy of our old washer. And my wife is especially happy with how clean the laundry is with this new unit.

GE® ENERGY STAR®

I bought the GE® ENERGY STAR® washer and dryer three months ago and I am amazed at all the features. I have a front loader and I like the convenience of loading. I try to wash all my clothes on Saturday, which includes four wash loads, and this washer is more than capable of washing "BIG" loads. I also love the "Delicates" wash cycle as I use it for all my clothes, even though some are "Dry Clean" only. They come out of my GE washer and dryer just as beautiful as they would have if they were dry cleaned. I LOVE my beautiful washer and dryer. If you buy this I think you will love it as much as my family does.

So Far so Good

Bought this month, installed yesterday, several loads and it works great. Only issue is the Red Coating on the top is already scratched. This isn't porcelain, if I had know how fragile it was I would have saved my money and bought white. If it continues I will be contacting GE

EVERY FEATURE I COULD WANT!!

Comparing front-load washers/dryers was an overwhelming experience. When I finally selected this model, I second-guessed myself until I had used it a few times. I'm not POSITIVE I made the right decision. The machine is quiet, has options for ever possible wash need, the operation manual and quick reference guide were easy to read and understand and my clothes have never been cleaner. Cosmetically? GORGEOUS!! Even my husband is excited to do laundry now, because he loves the "cockpit-like instrument panel" LOL

Promises more than it delivers

I purchased this washer (and matching dryer) about 6 months ago. Size and design with the built in riser worked well for my laundry room. Some of the features were very promising, including vibration control and overnight dry. Unfortunately my experience has not lived up to my expectations, especially on a machine at this price point. The first unit failed after about 3 weeks and was ultimately replaced by GE when the problem could not be diagnosed in a reasonable amount of time. The second unit has been functioning but not as it should be. Since delivery it has had ongoing problems with load balancing, on moderate to large loads it will sometimes take an extra hour or more fully balance when entering the spin cycle. While I understand when the machine has to balance one or two times, it can repeat this a dozen times. Also whenever it enters a spin cycle it makes a horrible banging noise and shakes (likely to the point of "walking if not the for the floor plan restricting movements). Trying different vibration control modes only makes it worse(not convinced there is true active vibration damping here). I did have it serviced with replacement of the drum but not real change in function. I also try to run smaller loads when possible, and while this helps somewhat, I am confused as to why I purchased a 4.8 cubic foot machine if I cannot take full advantage of the capacity. While the machine does get my clothes clean(actually does a reasonably good job), the very load banging can wake someone from sleep and combined with cycle times that are very unpredictable and inability to use full capacity leave me unable to recommend this machine despite initial high hopes.

Good machine

Good machine with good number if cycles. Washing machine leaks from front of unit. Instruction manual says this is "normal operation" in my opinion normal operation means something doesn't leak and water gets under your 200lb machine. Everything cleans well but occasional leak is annoying.
