Worked great, until it didn't

Love the color, does a great job of cleaning. Gentle. Until it became a paper weight. Couple months later GE ended up replacing. Same unit, still love the color and how it works, hoping this one lasts longer!

Exchanged 3 Times and Retuning the 4th!

I reviewed this model 11 months ago and gave it one star which appears in these reviews. I rated a 4th replacement one star almost a month ago and still don't see it so I'm writing again.
So many reviews are positive so I tried a second and it was just as bad as the first, constantly spinning slowly, stopping, restarting, spinning slowly and stopping often for an hour or more trying to extract water in the final spin. It did not, however, fill the fabric softener dispenser to the top with water as the first one did.
I exchanged it for a third and during drain it flooded my laundry room.
I exchanged it for a fourth and it arrived with the basket light missing. A technician fished it out from behind the control panel and installed it. So a 34 minute SPEED WASH takes, on average, an hour and 15 minutes. A 1 hour and 8 minute NORMAL WASH takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Some NORMAL WASHES take over 2 hours. Five cotton knit shirts on a 54 minute DELICATE WASH take an hour and a half. The washer is perfectly level and sits on a ceramic tile over concrete basement floor so that does not seem to be the problem. I believe the problem is that GE designed this model to extract every last ounce of water from garments and to spin so smoothly (the only positives) at the expense of time. But that's just my guess.
The matching dryer, on the other hand, is excellent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had continuing balance issues. Had to constantly rebalance the load to get it to finish a cycle.

Washer develops strong unpleasant smell over time

We bought these for their size and from our dealer telling us there would be no mold/mildew. Unfortunately we have not had that experience despite changing soaps and cleaning filters per GE recommendations.

Two failures within 60 days... console board and motor. Clothes in machine couldn't ope door when inoperable.
Pods melt stains on clothes. Very dissppointed... a GE fan in two homes.

Service man here 6 times in 13 months. White cycle takes 2.5 to 3 hours. Time continually takes longer. Horrible experience

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

THIS IS THE WORST MACHINE I HAVE EVER OWNED. THIS UNIT IS NERVE RACKING NOISY AND LOUD LIKE A PLANE IS LANDING IN THE HOUSE, IT DOESN'T CLEAN CLOTHES, IT DOESN'T MAKE CLOTHES SMELL GOOD, TAKES FOREVER TO DO A LOAD OF WASH, I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANYTHING ENERGY EFFICIENT ABOUT TAKING 3 HOURS PLUS TO DO A SINGLE LOAD OF WASH THAT IS SOAKING WET WHEN THE SPIN CYCLE IS FINISHED, THE QUALITY IS TERRIBLE, THERE ARE DEFECTS AND DAMAGES, IT BREAKS DOWN, DOESN'T SPIN, ARRIVED DAMAGED AND IS NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT. I OFTEN HAVE TO USE THE RINSE CYCLE AFTER IT IF FINISHED WASHING TO ATTEMPT TO GET THE WATER OUT. THERE IS NO SPIN ONLY CYCLE SO IT WASTES WATER THIS HUGE MACHINE CANNOT DO A NORMAL LOAD OF WASH THAT MY SMALLER MACHINE COULD DO. THERE IS A LOT OF EMPTY SPACE AND THIS MACHINE IS A LIGHT WEIGHT. THIS UNIT IS NOT BUILT TO LAST AND I WILL NEVER BUY GE AGAIN.

Broke after 2 years

Basket broke off after only 2 years of use. Bought it for its large capacity and even though it has a setting for bedding you cannot wash blankets in this washer. Do not buy!
