Very disappointed!! Have had serious problems.

This is the first GE wash machine & dryer set I've purchased and I have had nothing but serious issues with the wash machine. 6 months after purchasing the set I had to have major repairs done on the washer and the same thing is wrong again and it's only a year and a couple weeks old. I am waiting on repairs again and am unable to wash laundry which is an issue. I spent our hard earned money and bought the brand new GE set so I had a nice dependable wash machine and dryer and replaced our other set so we weren't having to deal with repairs or problems and being without a way to do laundry. But all I've had is issues with the wash machine and I have no way to wash clothes and uniforms for work again. The wash machine is always unbalanced when it spins no matter what's in it, it doesn't matter whether it's 1 item or 10 items, changing the settings don't help, it's level, nothing changes how bad the issue is when it spins. It's horrendously noisy, clothes smell terrible, it has tore up several items that were washed, it sometimes smells burn & the clothes inside smell burnt and have to be washed again, it leaks from the front door seal, the soap & frantic softener dispenser always has water sitting in it and leaks inside of the washing machine which we learned when GE had it repaired the first time. We can't run the wash machine unless your right by it to stop it because the spin is so bad, it bangs the tub so hard from side to side that you can see it hit each side, when it's spinning you can't hear what people are saying or when the phone rings because it's so loud. We've actually had people ask us what that horrible noise is. I truly believe this wash machine is a lemon and has serious issues. I am requesting that GE replace it. I've had other front loaders and never had these type of issues. If the wash machine didn't have all of these horrible issues I would probably really like it because I liked all of the options and settings. Please GE contact me and make this right and replace this wash machine so I can purchase GE brand products in the future because I will know that GE stands behind their products when there is a legit issue.

since day one I've had issues with the detergent dispenser. It was replaced , but the issue still exists! clothes doesn't smell clean!

I dislike this washer can't add extra water if needed sometimes clothes not even wet and don't smell clean

Excellent features with some minor issues

Overall this washer provides an excellent set of features, the half-pedestal makes it very easy to get loads in and out. Probably our biggest issue with it is the dispenser drawer often fills with water and remains undrained following a load, this is really the only reason I wouldn't give this one additional star.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wonderful high capacity washer

Replaced a 13 year old Kenmore H3T washer that died with this one. Needed high capacity washer capable of doing large loads. Found this item in online search and liked the features. The adaptive load balancing makes this unit a lot quieter and less stressful on floor then previous unit, even at ultra high speed spin, no more dancing/shaking washer. Stainless steel drum is nice and wide but maybe just a bit too deep, hard to reach items all the way in the back. The built in pedestal could have been a bit higher and should have included a storage drawer. I am 6' 0" and have trouble bending over and reaching all the way in the back for items like socks that lodge themselves against the drum back and the drum agitator vanes. The rubber gasket releases a bit of an unpleasant sulfuric smell after a wash, probably due to vulcanization process, but if clears out fairly quickly. I keep the doors open a crack after a wash to aid in drying and mildew/mold prevention, this help keep the smell down too. Having a "light" button for the inside is a nice feature as you can turn the LED lights on and off as needed. The menu takes a bit of figuring out as to which setting work the best for desired items. Stain control selection menu is nice touch. Love the gray metallic graphite color.
