Not thrilled.

My first front loader. The cycles are much longer than my previous HE top loader. Unit does not always self-balance, I have to stop it during the spin cycle and "re-start". Hair and lint accumulates at the bottom of the seal, necessitating frequent (every other load or so) pulling the seal open and wiping clean. The clean out plug (bottom right front) is incredibly difficult to unscrew and remove -- it is recessed and I cannot get my hand in there to apply sufficient torque to remove. I had to take a wood dowel and hammer to loosen it enough to unscrew. It also sometimes (rarely) stops in the middle of a cycle and displays "OFF". I must then open and re-start.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works like any other washer

We got talked into the most expensive washer in the store and it works just like any other washer. I'm disappointed in how smelly my towels are now. I hear that's a front load washer thing. I've googled lots of times to try and find a solution. If all you need is clean clothes, just get a top loader and save the money.

Great washer, quiet. The design of the detergent draw wasn't thought out well. If the draw is open and the washer door is opened it scratches the chrome around the door.

Laundry comes out cleaner with less detergent residue. Large items, like comforters, can be laundered in this machine.

I wish the door could open on either side, or at least it was pointed out to you in the manual.

My wife and I knew our old washer was wearing out so when it finally gave up the ghost we took the plunge and bought a matching pair. The built in pedestal's attracted me to these two but it was the color, fire engine red for gosh sake, that sealed the deal. Oh, and the large capacity and extent features were a bonus I did not anticipate. We also switched to gas for the dryer, something I would recommend to everyone.
