This fan puts out so much air it is incredible! Even on the low setting, there is a lot of air being moved around. I find that on the high setting, the fan is noisy. That is why I rated it four stars for quiet operation. I love the design of this fan, it's very stylish. All in all I couldn't be happier with my purchase and I will consider buying Vornado products in the future.

I never wrote any reviews for any products which i used but this "Little Monster" which I got as gift is so awesome that I wanted to show some gratitude to the company by writing this! I never thought such a small fan would be so powerful and quiet! I used it for entire summer and i am sure i saving some money every month on electric bill. The only disadvantage I felt is that I have to fight with my roommate for this thing....he is taking away this fan to his room without my permission!! Sandy Wichita State University Student

I have owned Vornado's for over 40 years. Currently, I have a 630, 683 pedestal, a Pivot, and two of these 530's.
These two are my 4th and 5th 530's
It is only now that these last two Stopped Working, like the last two that I realize that
THESE FANS ARE DEFECTIVE by manufacture.
The fans work beautifully for one season, THEN Slowly But Surely STOP WORKING
You can Only Clean the Fan Blades
THATS NOT THE PROBLEM
The Problem Is - The Motor Sucks Up Dust, CANT BE CLEANED, And SEIZES UP
First you Can't Tilt It Upwards Without it Making Loud Noises when started
THEN IT JUST STOPS WORKING and Overheats.
I have had 5 of these, THEY ALL SEIZED and are garbage.
IT IS CLEAR Vornado Knows This - READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, they all say the same thing.
If you are thinking of buying one of these
Make sure you CHECK THE MAUFACTURE DATE on the Unit you buy
Your 5 year warranty runs from Then - unless you happen to be able to locate your sales receipt, YOU WILL BE OUT OF LUCK.

These are great and really do circulate a LOT of air. but they die. I had 4, and every single one stopped working. you cannot oil them or do anything to prolong their lives. for the price, that is not ok. they did fall under the warranty period, and were replaced, but the replacements all met the same fate. these are too expensive to be a disposable product. not to mention the landfill space they take up. how about making them user maintainable? or offering replacement motors at a reasonable price, so at least all that plastic doesn't have to get chucked? very disappointing, because they are designed well otherwise. having 6 fail is just. . . crazy

Cons: not serviceable

When is a fan not a fan?

Ok, so I know what you are thinking. Who do you really see get excited about fans? It's just a fan...and why have you been talking to me for 10 minutes about your fan? Truth is, I love my fan. Vornado owners are the only people I have seen talking about fans as much as they do. Personally I enjoy the company of a good fan when I am sleeping (year around in Minnesota to yunno), at the compute doing work, or just watching tv. So one day when I was fan shopping for college I came across a few Honeywell fans and a couple other so-so ones. When I hit the Vornado though, it was like love at first site. This is coming from a guy who takes a half an hour trying to pick out a movie at the store. What sets Vornado apart is the fact that it jumps far ahead of any other fan out there. It creates the perfect amount of breeze, is quiet, and it’s extremely accessible. I had mine in a dorm for over three years now and it has fallen numerous times on concrete and dangled from the cord no-less. Still in fully operable condition and almost no dust buildup either!!! Only complaint for mine is that it only has two settings. One quiet summer breeze and one ARCTIC SUPER BLAST 9000! So if you have a choice, go with the Rolex/Bentley/Versace of fans. Worth every penny and will outlast your newborn child.

Disappointed

In less then 2 months of purchase my vornado stopped working out of nowhere for no reason apparently... Very disappointed. When it was working it was great, but for the price I paid it should last longer honestly.
Cons: Lacks Power, Unstable

We are on our third 530 and hoping each time we return and buy a new one, that the same issues we have don't happen again. It works great for a few months, then all of a sudden it won't start when turned on. And or it starts to make noises that it shouldn't. Sometimes I would assist the blades to jump start it, but it eventually would stop. We have an older model that has worked for years and continues to work well, but this one just doesn't want to live up to the brand. Very disappointed
Pros: Compact, Great speed settings, Lightweight
Cons: Failed, Flimsy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Control button broke.

I loved this fan when I got it a year ago, to cool my sunroom, where the dog sleeps. I have no a/c in there, (nor do I want it), but when the afternoon sun hits there, I used it to cool it down. It worked GREAT. But now the knob on the control broke, so I can't change fan speeds. I will be calling the company to see if they can replace it.
Pros: Circulates Air Well, Good Speed Variety, Quiet, Range of Speeds
Cons: Cord Doesn't Match Fan
