getting the job done

We shred every day at this office and the PS-12c is working great. It has a large capacity bin which is easy to empty, and it hasn't jammed yet. We love it!
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Safety Features, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction

No hassle start, very safe. My only wish would be for slightly larger container a little less messy.

Safe at Last

After having my trash cans ransacked followed by me being a victim of identity theft, I decided investing in a good shredder was a must. I had another shredder by a different company, but it kept getting jammed and was so frustrating to use I gave up. I got the PS-12C because it could not only handle the stacks I accumulate each week of credit card statments and those checks the credit card companies send without asking, it can even eat my old plastic credit cards. I used to cut them up by hand, and I always wondered if some illustrous scammer could still piece together the bits and use the cards. Now, I am sure they can not, as the cross cut renders the cards into diced plastic. Also, with the safety feature that disables the shredder if a hand touches too closely to the blades, I don't worry about my preschooler son playing with the machine and getting hurt. And I finally feel safe putting out the trash.

Poor design.

Recessed flat switch clumsy, add peak for ease of switching.
Machine is poorly designed for carpeted floor. Catches nap of carpet so it does not close, and consiquently keeps from closing the circuit in operation. Messy, when drawer is opened, media still in shredder blades is pulled off, and falls to sides and back if drawer, and gets pulled out to floor. Good shred, all else in design poor.

I pulled this shredder out of the box, oiled it up, and went through about 1000 documents immediately. It is the tank of Medium sized jobs. I have burned up 2 heavy duty shredders within the first 20 minutes of using them but this one begged me to shred more. I like the cool down light that warns you if you are running hot and this light did not come on once. 5 stars from me.

Great Shredder

I just bought it today and have used it a little bit, and it works great. Don't have to open most envelopes to shred junk mail.
