This shredder has all the features that we need! It's quiet when it's in operation and the side trash remover is great! It was a good purchase for us!!

excellent shredder for the price

I purchased this shredder as a replacement for one from a different company that had "expired." The Fellowes shredder has performed well above my expectations and is both powerful and quiet. I definitely feel this shredder to be a great deal.
Pros: Quiet Operation, Quality Construction, Warranty, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size

bad choice

I bought it to handle very easy stuff at a home office. Found the shredder to be very noisy, container fills up very soon, when you get the drawer out it makes a mess, have to clean the floor every time I empty the bin. It also jammed on me as the container got full and it got super jammed. Then one of the parts got messed up due to the jam and now it does not make the blades roll. Very disappointed.

Cons: Mess Reduction, Quiet Operation, Jam Resistance

worth the price

Prior to identity theft i have always had a shredder for bank statements and checks.Basically sensetive info, my shredders usually were off brand ones that lasted only a year or so. Safety features were minimal, but this fellowes shredder has added safty features that i found out i needed. I recently had surgery on both shoulders and the ease of using and emptying the shredder is so effortless. I am so glad i purchased it and will recommend it to freinds and family. thanks!

MODEL-12Cs - DOES NOT LAST

Bought this unit on Nov. 10, 2007. It didn't last 3-years using at home. Spent the money for a better shredder, after a cheap one didn't last. This did not turn out to be a better shredder. Claims to shred 12-pages at a time. I don't believe it can do 6. Had problems in the last year jamming and overheating with normal use. I tore it apart myself to see why. Some of the plastic space bars between blades had broken off. Some of the blades had shifted. One of the blade rolls was plugged tightly with paper, and compressed into the blade groove.
Limited warranty on blades is 5-years, balance of the machine 1-year. So it's a "Throw-away" in less than 3-years.

Cons: Sheet Capacity, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Jam Resistance, does not last

Very loud

I liked this shredder because it is not as much as an eyesore as other models, but this shredder is very loud. Would make sure I buy a shredder that is not as loud next time.

This is a new replacement for an older shredder I owned, so it is difficult to rate at this time. However, from my experience with Fellowes Shredders in the past they are excellent products and require minimum maintenance.
