I bought this because of the slicing feature and two sizes of containers. The unit arrived as promised and was easy to assemble - except the slicing adapter for use with the smaller bowl - it took more force than I expected. The slicer worked perfectly with the vegetables I tried and I loved it. Overall I could have used a smaller Food Processor but this is the only one with variable thickness control - a great feature.

Food processor works wonderfully. However, directions should be more detailed and then you could get better results from the tool instead of trial and error. That's my only complaint.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Design
Cons: detailed directions of use would be appreciated.

Not the KitchenAid quality that I have experienced in the pa

I purchased a KitchenAid 13 Cup Food Processor to replace my wife's Cusinart Deluxe processor which is quite old and smaller. So far I am very unhappy with the KitchenAid 13 Cup Food Processor. It doesn't seem nearly as powerful and the ability to set the blade height seems to be more of a con then pro. The product concept is simple: cut stuff, however this product seems to make this objective unnecessarily complicated.

With the major exception of the slicing function, it's o.k.

The slicing mechanism is a great disappointment. It does not adjust from thin to thicker -- I much preferred the two slicing discs that came with my beloved ProLine 13-cup processor. This new version just whacks the vegetables, unevenly at that.
Unfortunately my 5-year old ProLine needed a new spring lock in the lid, but was discontinued last year when I called you to order a replacement. The customer service rep solved my problem by swapping a new domestic model (with the new disc design) for my partially disabled ProLine. I thought this was a generous exchange and really wanted to be happy with this deal. Other functions work well.

The large capacity makes it invaluable for processing large quantities of vegetables. The variable thickness slicer feature deserves high praise from me as it has greatly reduced the time needed to make sauerkraut and cole slaw. The processor is attractive, easy to use and the blade storage case is a great innovation over other processors and promotes safety.
Pros: Innovative, Large Capacity, easy to use, Performance, Convenient Features
Cons: Difficult To Clean
