I bought my set of Farberware in 1979. Other than the handles and the bottom, it looks like a shiny well-worn, well-loved set of cook wear. I was thinking of getting a set my son, when I ran across the one piece that I had always wanted, the double boiler. I convinced myself that I would be able to use the bottom pot as a regular pot, I was wrong, I don't know when the formula changed, but it no longer has a heavy bottom on it. It looks like of the others, but not as sturdy. So, I will not be ordering a set for my son. Farberware may have been around for over a hundred years, but it is not the same sturdy stuff from the past.
