Got my Farberware set 43 years ago and it's still a great performer. Misplaced my double boiler inserts (steamer and regular) a while back, so I order new to replace. It's just a little different from the originals - the base pan feels heavier and the handle gets a tad warm, unlike the original. But the performance is fine.
Pros: Distributes Heat Evenly, Durable, Easy To Clean, Heats Quickly, Retains Heat
Cons: Handle Gets Hot

I bought this pan/double boiler a few weeks back, and glad I did! I used it the very night it was delivered, a great improvement over my old 2qt saucepan with the broken handle (not Farberware, just a castoff!) The 2qt is the perfect size for me and it is very well made. I got the pan with metal lid as I have a tendency to break glass lids! Plus this classic pan matches the other Farberware I own. Have recommended this saucepan to others, sure they will be pleased!

Finally found a double boiler I can make stick frosting in without having to hold the handle while using hand mixer. I only gave 4 stars because I wish it were wider and less tall like my grandmothers Farberware double boiler. That was a masterpiece!

bought this to replace the one I had to leave when I moved. it doesn't seem to be the same weight of metal as the older pans I have. In. fact the bottom of the double boiler (2qt) fits inside my 59 year old 2qt saucepan. But it is of good quality.

This is my second pan set. First one I bought over 20 years ago. I accidentally burned the pan on stove. It was so bad I had to throw it out. Otherwise I would still have it. Very nice stainless steel pan.
