It's been a lifesaver

I've had my Dymo 4XL Label maker since 2015. It's been a lifesaver. It's printed many many labels for me and hasn't let me down yet. I love how quick it prints and that there is no ink needs. Thermal printers are awesome for speed. Don't hesitate to buy one. You will be so glad you did.

Printing with my Dymo has been great. A++

Printed with this thing for years now and I've never had a problem. Yes, sometimes I have to adjust the feed/alignment when changing rolls, but I've always had to do that with any printer I've ever owned. Paper jams, ink issues, software updates...NONE of those issues with this. I'll take that trade-out any day and this thermal printer has ROCKED!

Very happy with this printer!

I have been using this printer with my etsy business for about 5 years. It has printed about 14000 labels and I've been very happy with it. I generally use cheap off brand labels and rarely have any issues. Maybe had two or three bad paper jams and occasionally I will take the cover off and make sure the everything inside is clean. The software is easy and always works.

Barely functions
on August 23, 2024

When it works, it's great. 75% of the time, it doesn't work. We have tried EVERYTHING. Different labels, DYMO brand labels, resetting it, cleaning it, unplugging it and leaving it for a few days then plugging it back it, realigning it. NOTHING WORKS. It decides when it works and when it doesn't. I can't wait until we decide which new label printer to buy because this one is basically not functional. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because, again, when it works, the labels are great.

Hello.
Thank you for reaching out and providing us with your valuable feedback. Your input is important as it helps us improve our products and services.
We sincerely apologize for the inconveience caused.
To resolve this issue, please follow these steps: unplug both the power and USB cables from the back of the device. Then, press the power button 15 times to discharge any residual energy. Additionally, visit help.dymo.com > LabelWriter > How do I perform a self-test on my DYMO Label Printer to ensure the print head is functional.
Furthermore, we recommend connecting your printer power adapter directly to a wall socket, not to a power-saving device, to ensure full power surge.

Airport Express + Dymo Setup
on September 19, 2024

Installation on both the macos and Windows ecosystem was very hard to do and to be completely honest it shouldn't be hard to do in the 21st century.
These are the steps to connect your 4XL printer to a windows 11 computer while using an Airport extreme as a router/bridge.
1. Download the Dymo Connect software and install. 2. Download Bonjour and install the software package. 3. Connect your 4XL into the USB port in the back of the Airport Extreme. 4. Open Bonjour and click on Dymo 4XL. 5. You should only see 2 options. Generic and Windows. You want to click on have disk. 6. Go to Local Disc (C:) (Yours might be a different drive) and look for the Program Files (x86) folder. 7. Open "Dymo" > Dymo Connect>Drivers>DLS>"DYMO.inf" 8. Now finish up the setup on Bonjour and you're done.

Terrible. Unreliable. Overpriced

This is the worst printer. Its completely unreliable. It spits out empty labels after printing which waste them. Its over priced for the crap job it does. I will never buy from this company. Look elsewhere for printing for your drop ship company.

Hello.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
We recommend you clean the print head and roller by feeding a business card with alcohol on it in order to stop the excessive feeding that was the cause of the issue. Additionally, we recommend cleaning the printer sensors. Visit Dymo. com > Support > Dymo Help Center > LabelWriter > How to clean my Dymo printer for advanced instructions.
Furthermore, the use of generic labels can cause this issue which is why we recommend using DYMO authentic labels as they reduce issues such as misaligned printing, excessive feeding, and label jams. We also guarantee that our labels will provide you with the best user experience.
Lastly, ensure the labels are properly aligned, the perforated holes on the label should be aligned to the left side of the printer sticker facing down.
If you are still having issues, please reach out to us via our website or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time.

Hello.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
To address the issue, we recommend trying a Power Cycle process to reset the printer and resolve any connectivity problems. Please follow these steps carefully: Power Cycle: 1. Remove the labels from the inside of the printer. 2. Unplug both cables from the back of the device. 3. Press the power button on the front of the printer about 20 times to fully discharge it while the cables are disconnected. 4. On your Mac, go to System Settings > Printers and Scanners by clicking the Apple logo. 5. Select your DYMO LW 4XL printer and delete it from the list. 6. Plug in only the power cord, then press the power button on the printer. 7. Reinsert the labels into the printer and feed them through properly. 8. Adjust the label guide to ensure the labels stay aligned.
Update Your Software: Ensure you have the latest version of the DYMO software and drivers compatible with macOS Ventura. You can find updates on our official website.
If you are still having issues (If you have more questions or feedback), please reach out to us via our website or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am - 5 pm Eastern Time.
