Wastes a lot of labels

When it decides to work it is perfect but it does waste/skips a lot of labels and i cant get it to print on 1(1/4)x2(1/4) labels. i am having such a hard time and now that i finally figured out how to make the barcode fit, it skips 10 labels in between each print.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Based on what you have described, I recommend you to be sure the labels are Dymo brand and loaded to the far left of the feed area and are not shifting to the right during printing. This should eliminate the issue of blank labels advancing. Perfect addition to my business!

This has simplified and streamlined my business. I print about 20 labels a day and went through labels, ink like crazy. This is going to save me so much money. It was a great investment. I followed the instructions carefully and from the second I printed my first label, I was so happy that it worked perfectly. I use a Mac and ship from Etsy and the transition was painless. It is quiet, it is small, it is fast. I highly recommend this label printer.

Working awesome so far!

I got this label printer and got it set up in about 10 minutes. I've used label printers before and its important to feed the labels correctly and line up the directions. If you download the drivers first which the instructions say you should have no issues with connecting the device. I was surprised to see a lot of negative reviews then read some and it appears to be mostly user based sorry guys.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I don't know what the issue is!

I have been a Dymo user for almost 15 years. My original Labelmaker 400 isn't compatible with Big Sur so I got a new one...I needed the upgrade anyway for shipping so I got a 4XL. The first time it connected and it was great, but now the app continues to crash and I can't use it. I haven't determined if I can use it on a website like FedEx yet, but that looks like it works. I have no idea what to do next.

doesn't work with iOS BigSur

is not compatible with current iOS we have 3 of these an new Mac book pro and they don't work with them!

Blank labels

I have used this printer for several years and am happy, but suddenly the labels are just blank. Everything else looks fine. Is it possible the thermal element has died?

Hello Rodger, this is Faith from DYMO Consumer Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our DYMO LabelWriter 4XL. The issue usually happens when labels are not inserted correctly or the sensors are dirty or obstructed. Please check and make sure that the labels are inserted correctly, the labels need to be aligned as far to the left as possible and stickers facing down before they go to the feed area. To clean the printer please follow the steps: a) Open the lid of the printer b) Grip top part of the front cover and lift it up c) Remove the cover by pulling it towards you d) Pull up the label guide and check that there is no physical jam. You can also feed an alcohol coated business card 5-10 times making sure to cover all parts of the printer and try to print after drying. Disappointed…

At first I loved it! It was perfect! But I bought It July of last year and it hasn’t worked all year for me. I barely used it. It just stopped working one day and I’ve done everything I could do.

wont work on google chrome
