Not Compatible with Windows 10
on September 13, 2016
Posted by: mjmcnamee
I bought this in June and no where did the description say that it wasn't compatible with Windows 10. I would really like to use this as I think it would be a huge timesaver but right now I feel like it was a huge waste of money
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I apologize that you are experiencing issues printing with your LabelWriter 4XL. The LabelWriter 4XL Series printers are compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10. In order to print successfully with Windows 10 you need to have the most up to date version of Dymo Label Software installed, version 8.5.3. This download can be found under the support tab on www.dymo.com. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to give our technical support team a call at 877-724-8324 Monday- Friday 8am- 6pm EST.

Not Impressed

Used in Shipping Receiving everday use, owned a single 450 for years got tired of changing labels so decided to get the twin turbo. After 2 months of use the unit kept disconnecting from the pc rendering it useless. Had to disconnect then reconnect to make it work. Then 2 weeks later the right side printer started cutting off the beginning of labels
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy Controls, Prints Fast, Crisp Printing, Durable Labels, Versatile, Quiet
Cons: Right Side Print Cut Off, Disconnecting From Pc

I apologize that you have experienced issues printing with your LabelWriter 4XL. Based on what you have described I would recommend feeding a cleaning card (or business card saturated with rubbing alcohol) through your printer about 5-6 times. Additionally I recommend a Power-Cycle to reset the printer. Power-Cycle Steps:
1. Remove labels from the print feed (use the lever on the left side of feed, to gently pull towards you, to allow the labels to be removed easily)
2. Unplug printer from the USB AND the power source
3. Leave unplugged for 45 seconds
4. Plug power back into printer and allow the motor to run
5. Once the motor stops running, the light should be blinking (this tells us that there are no labels loaded into the printer)
6. Feed the label into the far left of the feed, with labels face down, and the printer should grab the label and load the label for you (if you have a 450 series slide the gray guide over to rest beside the label)
7. Connect the USB cable (you may want to be sure the print queue is clear prior to connecting USB)
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to give our technical support team a call at 877-724-8324 Monday- Friday 8am- 6pm EST as we are happy to find a solution for you.

Great printer, overall saved me so much hassle and most importantly "Time" which is money. I wish the labels were a little cheaper, but overall definately worth the money because it saves money on Toner, drum and all the other stuff you don't have to worry about. We ship Jinglies Hip Scarves for Belly Dancing and Zumba Fitness workout for our entire business and this printer rocks and we absolutely Love it! Our website is http://www.Jinglies.com
Pros: Simple Controls, Neat Settings, Durable, Works Quickly, Strong Labels, Quiet
Cons: Expensive labels
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Colossal Waste of Time

I wish I the negative reviews more seriously before buying. I spent about 4 hours working with the printer to try to print ONE label successfully, only to spend several hours and much frustration doing the very thing everyone else complains about. I print a label, and it spits out 5-6 labels afterwards.
I read lots of forums, I saw all the answers, and I am just not giving this machine any more of my time. I am really amazed that a product that has so many problems can still be sold. But, I guess a lot of people are like me, hopeful that it would work *for me*. Nope. Save yourself the frustration.

Thank you for contacting us through our feedback website. We apologize that you are not completely satisfied with your LabelWriter 4XL. We have noted your difficulty with excessive feed. Based on what you have described, I recommend you to be sure the labels are loaded to the far left of the feed area and not shifting to the right during printing. If you notice shifting, I recommend you to be sure the spool is tight around the roll of labels and the labels are being fed into the printer straight. If you are still experiencing problems please do not hesitate to give our technical support team a call at 877-724-8324 Monday- Friday 8am- 6pm EST as we will be happy to assist you. We can also provide support through email and live chat. You can find these options under the support tab on the Dymo website, www.dymo.com. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you will continue to use Dymo products.

You don't even have to push any buttons. Just ask Siri to print your sold items, and your label writer will print or reprint your items. It's technology is ahead of its time, it blows everyone else away! It doesn't just work on Windows, and when Apple updates, Dymo updates. That's how good this machine is.

I have had this printer for about 4 years, have never had a jam, or extra labels print out. It has gone offline a couple of times, but that is the only negative thing that has happened with this printer....
