Finally!

It took me some time to decide on the r3000 Photo Inkjet Printer. I went back and forth also considering the r2000 to be the "one." This is a big investment. The r2000 is less expensive and has a very nice feature that coats glossy prints. The reviews say that it is "punchy." which I also like. However, the r3000 was reviewed as being more "realistic" in it's finished product and I easily figured out how to make pictures "punchy" in post processing. I'm pleased to be back with Epson. My first printer was an Epson a zillion years ago. I'm sorry I strayed!
First of all, the printer comes with fully filled cartridges. Nice touch, Epson! It took me less then 20 minutes to load the r3000 into my Macbook Pro and get on line. I was printing within a half an hour of unpacking and setting up on my printer table.
I don't have as much time as I'd like to work with my photographs. Having a printer that doesn't jam, prints true out of the gate, and hums along without any clatter is a joy.
The day after this purchase I bought an Epson 400 to be on my home network and to handle documents. It was inexpensive and as easy to set up. Also, I am extremely satisfied with this product.

R3000

Compared to the R2400 the R3000 is a downgrade, imo. Working from Mac OS Mountain Lion its necessary to download printer drivers rather than insert a cd. Down load took over 2.5 hrs. - an unacceptably long time.
Paper size selection, for sizes not listed, is not intuitive and not described in the Basics h/b that comes with the machine. Attempting matte paper printing takes for ever - an 11x14 Matte HW paper took over 1.25 hrs of 'printing sending data to printer' - this with an PK to MK switch - I gave up and abandoned the attempt. ICI Profiles for Epson's newer papers are not loaded and need to be downloaded. After printing 4 off 11x14 and 2 off 8x10 glossy prints the PK ink showed as near empty. Not a good performance! Based on this it does seem that the R3000 drinks PK ink.

Never UnHappy with Epson

I just finished setting up my Epson 3000. This printer is replacing an Epson 3880 which I regretfully needed to let go of during a downsize for our new Ministry Launch. I have printed one file so far from my 3880 History and the quality is seamless. The 3000 quality looks no different than the 3880. In the past I designed Christian Graphics that were sold to help support our Ministry work, so I've had experience for years with these products. I could not imagine not having the access to printing graphics posters and other media used for our Ministry, and thankfully with Epson's, CHRISTmas sales, I was able to receive this as a gift from someone who felt our loss over loosing the 3880. Over the years I have graduated through different models and Never have I found one that for the purpose it was intended did not fully meet my expectations! I look forward to continuing on with our new machine and am confident it will pack the punch it is intended to give! Thanks Epson for your Holiday Sales!

PRINTING ON THE R3000
on December 6, 2012

I HAVE A R2400 PRINTER AND JUST ABOUT USED IT UP.
SO I PURCHASED A SYYLUS PHOTO R3000.
MOST OF THE TIME IT WORKS FINE. BUT AS OF LATE THE PRINTS ARE DARK. USED MY SPYDER 4 PRO FOR MY SCREEN AND DOWN LOADED THE LATEST SOFTWARE FOR THE NEW PRINTER.
I AM STILL WORKING ON IT AND IT WILL BE OK I THINK.
I LOVE ALL EPSON PRODUCTS AND STILL WILL PURCHAE MORE.
