Unleash creative inspiration?

Not a lot of 'unleashing' going on here... Big project coming up, good material, brand new printer, what could go wrong?
I was very excited to transition from an old HP B8800 series to the R3000 for many reasons, however my elation was short lived.
The unit had a permanent 'printer error' on start up, would not recognize any cartridges and basically refused to work.
Contacted the Epson support center, great guys - very helpful and polite, and it became apparent that this unit has a major issue. A replacement unit is in transit right now and I look forward to a perfectly working printer so I can recoup the time lost.
Hopefully I will be able to write a more favorable review after the replacement arrives...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hire a UX expert

The set up of the printer was simple and easy. Prints are truly like photographs, especially with my Nikon D800 images. Loading the software was an absolutely ridiculously inadequately designed from the user experience perspective. Hire a User Experience professional to create an easy, intuitive,natural and state of the art interface for getting the printer software uploaded, please. It will be well worth the investment for Epson.

I have won several awards with prints from my old r2400 and the color and clarity right out of the box is impressive.
I am expecting good things from this printer,
and judging from the results so far this printer will
deliver.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just got my epson. Was so looking forward to this. Read lots of reviews, talked with professor at school and a professional...all highly recommended and said great printer.
I'm so disappointed cannot even get through installing ink cartriges. On phone now with Epson to try and resolve this...so disappointed

I've been using this printer for about 2 months and have printed 200 or so prints as large as 13x19. I'm still learning as I go but the quality is amazing.
I also want to mention that I bought mine refurbished and when it showed up at my house NEXT DAY the only thing in the box was the printer. No power cord, no ink, no nothing. I called right away and told them the situation and I had those items in 2 days. After doing some reading I then realized that the roll paper adapters and the cd printing tray were supposed to come with a new printer so I called them again and once again I had those items in 2 days.
I also had a small problem with my MacBook Pro wanting to use older print drivers and after 5 minutes with tech support they had correct drivers installed and I have now been running for 2 months with 0 problems.
So that's my story. Nothing but praise so far. Good customer service, good tech support and a great product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I hate this printer. Worst investment I have ever made. It does not sync well with an iMac at all. Always issues with it telling me the wrong ink is on deck or an ink is low when it is not. Throw yourself a roast in the crockpot when you want to print something. It can take several minutes for it to even cue or warm up to print. And hopefully it will take the print stock in straight on the first try. I am very dissatisfied with this printer and DO NOT recommend it.

Installation Nightmares

I have Windows 64, and tried installing the software from the enclosed CD. I picked the option of installing via USB, figuring I'd go back later and set it up for wireless only. After connecting to my wireless network, it wouldn't go to the next step and I got the message "Some files necessary for setup are not installed. Run setup again from the software disc." I uninstalled everything, rebooted and tried installing directly to wireless but got the same messages. I uninstalled everything, downloaded software from Epson, rebooted and installed the wireless from the downloaded software. Same messages. Next step is to call for tech support later this week.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
