Good color but....

Setting up went well. The first photos that I produced had good color but there are scratches in several places on the print. This has happened on all subsequent outputs. Waiting for a response since the printer is only 2 days old.

High Quality Photo Printer

Being a professional photographer that started printing all of my pictures, instead of sending them off to be printed, I needed a high quality photo printer. I already had the Epson Pro 4800 printer and loved it, I just needed another to print 12 x 18's; 11 x 14's and 8 x 10's on. The R3000 overachieves this task. Wether it is full color or B&W, this printer is fully up to the challenge. I like the feature of Advanced B&W (also on the 4800). This does a more professional job than the regular printing. You will be amazed by the super quality on this printer.

Initial set up was a breeze. A little bit of an issue getting roll settings to show up in an older Photoshop program but zinged right through when using with Lightroom.

Great Printer

I use the Epson Stylus Photo R3000 for printing photographs downloaded to my computer from 3 different cameras. It makes excellent prints and is much faster than my 2200. However the on standard settings the R3000 prints are noticably darker than the 2200. I have to use special settings to get the R3000 prints to be as bright as I prefer. Warning! Use only Epson ink. I used other brands of ink with disasterous results.

Prints of Original Paintings

The quality of the first few prints is much better than my R2000. I print mainly on 8.5x11 inch sheet canvas. I have had no major feeding problems thus far. My only real concern so far. Is ink usage and price. The representative I ordered from told me it came with a full set of ink? I have only printed five prints and used 1/2 of my yellow and 1/3 of my photo black. I am printing and selling many more on my R2000, as it is cost effective. We have been printing and selling prints from my R2000 since 02/29/2013. I have printed hundreds.

R3000 printer

Upgraded earlier from the R2400 to the R3000 printer, not expecting a significant improvement. Pleased to report the R3000 is providing noticeably improved prints rendering more accurate colors and improved B&W images even in initial test prints. More readily achieving truer blacks and a greater range of grey tones when printing B&W images. Also enjoying the ability to download and install with relative ease custom paper print profiles. I had read favorably reviews about this printer which have proved to be accurate. Very satisfied.

Great Machine!

I had an R1800 for the past 6 to 7 years and after owning that I wouldn’t dream of having anything other than another Epson printer. The only problem I ever had with the R1800 was in it’s last days which was a week ago from now, the print head went on it. When I priced a new one I found it would be cheaper to buy a new machine, even the cost of the print head wouldn’t entice me to go back to another brand of machine, so I bought the R3000. So far I love the new machine. Because I just got the machine yesterday I was concerned when I saw ‘standard print and quality print’, the standard print looks to be about the same as the great print I was getting on my R1800 (which was totally amazing). When I tried the quality print (which takes a little more time) WOW! The colors and sharpness of the finished print were nothing less than amazing, I then tried ‘black & White’ print and that was by far better than the R1800, it was so professional looking that I can see a whole new world opening for me. Once you go with an Epson printer you more than likely will never go back to another brand. I and all my friends were always amazed at how quiet the R1800 was, I found out the R3000 is even quieter. It really is an amazing printer and I can hardly wait to get the Wi-Fi set up so I can print from my I-Phone. Epson has an App at the App store that will do this. I shoot my quality pictures with a much more professional camera.

Great Printer But...

The printer was extremely easy to set up & begin using. After tweaking a few controls I am getting beautiful prints off it. My only complaint is the amount of black ink it uses when it switches between Photo & Matte black ink. I still heartily recommend the printer.
