I am very well pleased with my Epson R3000 printer and the support they have given me has been outstanding! The ease of ordering direct has been a great asset especially dealing with knowledgeable sales staff. And the product quality of their supplies is excellent! I use mine for printing wildlife pictures and ranch scenes on a fifth generation cattle ranch in Texas! Very satisfied customer! Chip Lewis

Let Down by Epson

My R3000 is dead in the water after 2 years of use. It's my 4th Epson, the most expensive and the quickest to die. Actually the ONLY one to die. The problem is the black ink. I have learned that switching from Photo Black to Matte Black inks will soon cause the lines and print heads to clog. It begins with black ink blobs on photos and ends with totally clogged black ink lines. There is no happy ending to this issue.
My R3000 will still print, but no black ink comes through. I can't even print text with it.
So what to do? I have been a loyal Epson fan for decades. Now I hesitate to purchase another epson product. I have a big, heavy, expensive Epson paperweight sitting beside me at the moment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First Project

with the R3000 was a 4'x8' anaglyph 3D mural. I assembled it out of 11"x17" prints. The colors were consistent and the quality is excellent.
My only concern is how quickly I am blowing through ink. I will pay much more attention to this on future jobs.
I'm pretty happy with the printer, but it has been here for less than a month. Ask me again in a year's time, when the printer and I have gotten to be really good friends.

Set Up was very simple, I actually read the instructions first. The first 13x19 print took about 15 minutes to print, I was not in a hurry and the settings were set to the highest quality and the slowest print speed. I am very pleased with the result. I know the ink will be expensive, but only plan to use it for the final output. I haven't found any store locally who carries the ink so I need to plan ahead and have replacements on hand so I don't get caught short when printing. The wifi also works very well.

The R3000 is a big improvement!

I have been printing my own photos up to Super B (13x19) size for several years, but my previous dye printer needed a print head replacement. I changed brands and bought the Epson and I am so pleased with its performance. Colors are rich and deep, and where I see a huge improvement is black and white...no more green tint! This is a printer to explore and experiment with, to be sure, but my first print with the R3000 came out absolutely perfect, and I get to use certain fine art papers I could never use before. What a treat!

I have had this printer for over a year now. I now wish the ink came in larger volumes but I knew what I was getting when I purchased the printer. It does everything I wanted and more. I thought I would use the roll paper feature all the time but haven't used it yet. Once when I was putting two prints on the same paper I made a mistake and put the same print on twice at the same location on the paper. The second print fit exactly over the first, no loss of detail, it was amazing how accurate the placement was. Doubling the color on the print also had interesting effects that I plan to use in the future. I really like this printer but if I were to talk to someone I would recommend if they could afford it the 3880 just to go 17inch wide. Other than wishing for bigger, I wouldn't change a thing.

Bad experience

Purchased this printer for printing heat transfer papers. The ink bled and I could not get a decent print when printing to these types of papers. I own an Epson Pro 4000 and until it stopped working I had no problem printing on this type of paper. The instructions for this printer when using larger than standard US paper was poorly written or explained. I was very disappointed with this printer!!!
