Initial Observations

I have been a user of Epson printers since 1982. My FX-286 printer still works! This R3000 printer was purchased to replace an R1800 used for engineering design prints on 11"x17" paper. The R1800 developed the well documented power switch failure but after the new R3000 was ordered, I was able to bypass the bad switch and just left the old printer on and working.
The new R3000 sat on a shelf, unopened for 2 years before initial installation. In spite of this, it started right up, the included ink loaded and printed fine, and paper handling worked great. I particularly like the large ink cartridges and quiet operation. If this printer lasts longer than the R1800, I will be very pleased.

So Far...excellence!

I print mostly landscapes with matte paper. So far this printer produces excellent images with very true colors. Windows interface is very user friendly and understandable, OSX interface, not so much, I get Postscript errors prior to printing. Very confusing.

Epson Engineering is Excellent

Epson products have never disappointed me. The parts fit and operate smoothly. The software has been bug free and interfaces smoothly with other components. I believed I would get value for the higher price and I did! And of course, the colors and definition are fabulous. That was my number one requirement.

This is an exceptional printer. Prints are crisp and colors right on. I am a Linux Mint user and had no problems recognizing printer or making it work. I did have to tweak the CUPS settings slightly. I have had no issues with nozzles clogging even after extended periods of non use. Epson papers work but there are others that work equally well and cost less.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent!

I'm a professional photographer and needed a higher quality printer than my Epson Artisan 50, which is the best for photos of all the consumer-grade home printers. After extensive research, I selected the R3000 and haven't regretted it for a minute. Also, I have a small apartment and the R3000 looks good, not obtrusive at all and surprisingly compact. Lastly, changing inks is a much more efficient process than any previous printer I've owned. The only down side is the cost of the ink, but that's true of all professional printers, any brand.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epson 3000 Excellent color

I have been very happy with the 3000. The color rendition is excellent. The machine has never jammed or given me any trouble. The only negative is the cost of the ink. I do alot of printing and the ink seems to need replacing more often than I would like.
