I've only had the R3000 a couple of days, but I love it. Setup was pretty easy including the wireless capability. Prints are fantastic. Skin tone is exceptional.

Great desktop printer

This printer was described in reviews as a 3880 pro photo printer with a more reasonable footprint. It far exceeded my already high expectations. It is just a bit deeper than my R1400 and fits nicely on my desk. The 3000 produces brilliant images that accurately reflect the color on my MacBook Pro screen. The output is just stunning! It is the PERFECT photo printer for the serious amateur or professional photographer with limited desk space.

great workhorse printer for photos

I've used this printer for 2 years and bought it at the recommendation of a local photography store. I've printed hundreds of cards and maybe 100 prints of different sizes, up to 11x17. I've been very pleased with how easy it is to use. I print wirelessly and never had a problem. The only glitch I've had was recently when printing some cards on a paper I've used many times before without a hitch. I was able to resolve the problem (ink smear on cards) by increasing the platen gap in Photoshop. I don't know why this came up suddenly like that, but it's fixed now. I do try to use mostly paper that uses Photo Black ink so I don't have to switch very often and use up ink in the process. I also have a smaller Epson printer for everyday use. Love them both!

Love the R3000

I am now a dedicated Epson fan. I had an Epson 2200 printer that served me well for 8 years. This year I decided to move up to the K3 inks and the finer picoliter print head, and glad I did. The R3000 performs smoothly and beautifully. I make a lot of smaller prints for family, and some larger stunning display prints. The ease of operation from Lightroom 4 to the printer is impressive. Like I said: I love the R3000.

It took a while

The first printer that I received left much to be desired, the print quality was about 50% of my old R2400. Although the color was exceptional, I could not live with the low print resolution. I feel that it took way to long to receive a second printer.
However the replacement unit actually prints a higher resolution print as compared to the prints from the r2400.
The r3000 makes it worth the expense of buying high resolution cameras.
The people at Epson were very polite and helpful even if a little slow, that may or may not been their fault.
For all of you complaining about the cost of ink the web is full of places that will print your photos for next to nothing and that is what you will get.
I will gladly pay the price, my photos deserve it.

Supberb printer but takes some getting used to

I upgraded from an Artisan 1430 to the stylus R3000. If glossy photo prints are your goal, then the Artisan does a wonderful job at a lower price. However if you want to do high quality matte printing and fine art printing, the R3000 is the printer for you. I marvel at the color quality and detail of the printing on matte paper. I particularly like the printing of blacks and grays. You need to plan your work carefully, however. Switching between matte paper and glossy paper comes at a very high cost in wasted ink for head cleaning.Organize your work to stay in one print mode as much as possible. I have shifted my glossy printing completely to another simpler color printer, and process only matte and fine art on the R3000. I was initially very concerned about the cost of the ink cartridges, but their higher capacity really does last very much longer, easing my concerns.

For me the R3000 is perfect! The resolution and color of the prints is on the mark. This is my second R3000, the first one had issues with the capping station and needed repair. I used it for about a year and a half when the problems began.
My decision to buy the second R3000 took some thinking. I considered a 3880 but I really do not print over 13X19inches. I run EPSON EXHIBITION FIBER PAPER in my printer and am very happy with the prints I make. In the near future I am hoping to upgrade to a 3880, there is going to have to be an upgrade in my camera equipment as well. In closing, I think the R3000 is a wonderful, and for me, affordable, entry into EPSON wide format printers.

Excellent Printer, 1 Caution

I would classify myself as a serious amature photographer who likes to have control over the whole process from image capture to presentation. It is for that reason that I selected the Epson Stylus Photo R3000. What a great printer. It has delivered excellent results on everything from matte to metalic papers. My only disappointment is in the cost and size of the ink cartridges. The cost per ml of ink is more than twice as much for the same ink as compared to the 3880 (which has 80 ml cartridges). If you plan on printing frequently I would recommend getting away from the expense of the 25.9ml cartridges of the 3000.
