R3000 user observations

I am pleased with the quality of the prints that my R3000 is capable of producing. The only problem that I have had is that from time to time it does not recognize that it is connected to my computer. I will make 3 or 4 prints and suddenly a dialogue box will pop up saying that the the printer is not connected. It does this with a physical connection as well as wireless. ????????????????????????????????????????????????

Epson Stylus Photo R3000 prosumer printer.

The prosumer printer my R3000 replaced was an excellent printer; however, when I ran comparison prints the R3000 is clearly better.
My test prints were complex wilderness scenes with extreme detail and a great variety of color. My monitor is color calibrated. I tested with Premium Photo Paper Glossy. The color profile provided by Epson produced a virtually identical image to that on my screen, eliminating the necessity for me to profile the R3000!
When compared to my previous printer's images, the R3000 produced distinctly better detail! One of my test prints was primarily gray storm clouds and the R3000 produced excellent shades of gray--much better than my previous printer.
I am very happy with my new R3000!

Love the quality of print. It is very slow on wireless. I bought this to do some old photos and to print some of my sunsets. It does a great job. The only problem I have is that the rebate is not still on line. I purchased this to get the 150.00 back. I copied the rebate before the printer and I have lost it. There is now a 200.00 rebate. I did not get my printer until mid September. It was easy to install. So the only problem is getting the rebate promised when purchased.

I've been a serious amateur photographer for forty years but am a beginner with photo printers. This device makes technically excellent prints and the ink is very durable. Calibrate your monitor and use the right profile for your paper. I don't have any other experience with printers but I sure know a good photo print when I see one and I can't imagine any better than what I get from my Epson.

Mac Maverick

I have loved Epson R3000 for several years, now. However, with the upgrade to Maverick on my Mac, Epson is lagging behind and I am unable to use this machine to it's full potential. I am told that Epson is working on this upgrade, but no one can give me an ETA on when I might expect it. Right now, I have to put the file in Dropbox and bring it up on my old laptop to print from there!!! Way too time consuming. Can you give me an ETA on the upgrade to accommodate Mac's Maverick system?

So far, so good

I have a 3800 that is an excellent printer, but very costly in the past year due to the cost of ink to un-clog it, and now for print head defects. Decided to replace it with the R3000 rather than the 3880. (I still use the 3800 for certain 17x22 applications as long as I stick to matte black).
Have used the R3000 for about a month and could not be more satisfied with the print quality. It is fast (relatively speaking) and very quiet. My only current criticism is that when it's been turned off for awhile, it takes a number of minutes to load for the first print. I assume from the printer sounds that the ink tubes are being primed as an anticlog measure, but not sure. If so, it means some ink waste. But from my previous 3800 experience, leaving the printer on for too long a period between printing sessions is an invitation to clogging. Maybe Epson will advise.
Set-up through ethernet and Mac OS X 10.8 was flawless.
No hesitancy to highly recommend at this time. Hope it stays that way.

Stylus R3000

I upgraded from an R2000 which I liked very much. While I thought that I was having a problem (I am, but not due to the printer it is all on Adobe) I purchased this printer.
Installation was a breeze, even on a shared network which I did first and then did a hard wire to my system. I expected trouble for the network installation but it went without a hitch.
Images printed have been fantastic. Took some yesterday to a customer and they were thrilled with the quality and the colors that I captured.
Colors are great and the quality of the output for pictures and on DVDs has been better than expected. A great printer!

Whether you are a pro or beginner, this printer will do exactly what it is designed to do and what you want it to do, even if it is not setup correctly. It is always easy for the pros to setup a printer and get great results , but not always for the non pro. Not so with this printer. The thought process that went in building this printer makes it easy for all levels to set up and get great prints every time without a lot of additional software. This is my second Epson printer which says that I trust the Epson products. My confidence is growing and I plan to buy another Epson printer that can print even larger prints, but not because I will get better quality prints. Non is better!!
